So h2b had a chat with his best man the other night and they're planning on going to Vegas and going to see the NASCAR for his Stag do! And I know I probably shouldn't be but OMG I'm SO SO SO jealous - I've always wanted to do that trip, it's something h2b and I talked about doing together at some point... I'd really love to go with them but of course that's not the point of the exercise lol! And I can hardly steal his thunder by doing the exact same thing with the girls.

I need to find something equally amazing to do for my hen party now to make me feel better! Anyone else have similar experiences / suggestions?!

    Why not??
    Go together!!!

Get your girls together and tell them your plans!
All fly over together do the nascar together as a STEN but then go your seperate ways!
Stay in different hotels and do different things before and after!!

It's not really fair of him to go and do something you really want to do as well without you! If I was you I'd be really hurt rather than jealous.

But hails has a great idea, I think you should suggest it!

Ahhh, no I'm not hurt, I want him to have his fun and I'm sure he wouldn't object to doing it again later with me! It's a superb idea Hails, except for the fact none of the girls are remotely interested in motor racing so they wouldn't want to pay that much & go so far :( x

how about asking him to have a more low key do over here and then you can both go there together? i bet thats a hell of a lot of money, more money than i'd be willing to spend on a stag or hen do! nice idea, but surely that money would be better spent elsewhere at the moment and just have a good p*** up in a big city?

well thats what i'd be saying if it was me haha

I agree with mrsshawtobe. That sounds like a lot of money on a stag do. Wouldn't it be better for him have a different stag do and use that money for the two of you to do that trip together?
To be honest, if my h2b decided to do something I really wanted to do for his stag, I'd be very upset.

Theres a lady on here I think whose h2b went to vegas for his stag and I think it cost 2k just for flights and hotel.
It caused ALOT of arguements between them but if you can afford that and dont mind him going then by all means let him and if you do go somewhere like Ibiza, florida or do something else that you have both talked about doing together for your hen, see how he likes that???
Sorry but I've been thinking of this and I think its very selfish of him to do something that he knows you would like to do with him and spending that much on just his stag do (may cost less but will be at least 1k with spending money) would be a big no, if my h2b even suggested it I would go mental!!

    Sorry no offense!

big holiday stag/hen do's always have me in awe, doesnt the wedding and honeymoon cost enough?! I think its okay to be a bit jealous, like you said you can do it together in the future, sounds like it will be the lads trip of a lifetime and really when is he going to get the chance for that again? totally agree with you though, you'll have to make it up to yourself by having a fantastic hen do if thats the size of the budget!!! Shopping in Paris/New York/Milan? Spa holiday? Posh meal and stage show? Or just a beach holiday/city break with lots of dancing!

My h2b is having a box for the army v navy rugby match next year for his stag do and said technically I shouldn't be there but it's something I look forward to every year. I whined and whined about not being able to go so now he has relented that I can go but I cannot try to gate rash his box or try to find him after. I'm happy with that arrangement, I'll just have to get lots of girls with me and make it a 2nd hen do.

    I can't wait until 29/06/2013

I think you should all bear in mind regarding the budget difference between your dress and his suit which will be a vast difference. I think a more extravagant stag do compared to your hen do actually evens it out. You shouldnt all be so selfish by complaining about the stage do when your dresses cost a fortune compared to a hired suit which no doubt you have only allowed him. Just a point of view of course.

No idea what my h2b's plans are as yet so can't be jealous of them. What I am jealous of is that he's got support and someone is planning something for him. I have a sister who is MOH who doesn't really care about anything other than her dogs. She does go out but a good or special night out is just into town and getting trollied! I'm not asking for posh, just something nice maybe a spa day then out for a few drink or a meal and a drink or two. Looks like I'll be arranging it myself. I certainly wouldn't let either of us spend loads of cash on it though, we just can't afford it x

JonathanM14 - just to be clear, this isn't about the money spent. My point is that his plans sound amazing and there's a part of me would quite like to join in. That's all. The same would be true if he were doing go-karting, Go Ape, or paintballing over here; the plans HAPPEN to be Vegas but that's basically immaterial. I just wondered if anyone else felt similar and thought this would spark an interesting little discussion.

As for the "hired suit which no doubt you have only allowed him" comment - for your information I have NOT dictated that h2b has to have a hired suit and nor am I going to, the choice of what he and his groomsmen wear on the day and how to acquire it is entirely his own. I really do not appreciate being judged and labelled as selfish based on the inaccurate and unfounded assumptions of a complete stranger.

Haha, gotta say the dress budget equalling the stag do budget is a pretty good idea for the stereotypical couple where the bride only cares about how she looks and the groom only cares about getting p*ssed.

However, not really the best thread to spout that opinion!

My H2B is my best friend, we have a lot in common, so if he wanted leave me out of something I'd love and wouldn't get to do, I'd be pretty upset and feel like he was being selfish. But since we're such close friends he wouldn't want to do something that we'd both love to do without me.

It be like one of you going to see a film you both really want to see, and one of you goes with a bunch of other people and the other never gets to see it at all. I can't comprehend that lol.

LOL totally know what you mean LegoBride. Bizarrely enough though I genuinely don't feel hurt about this, or like he's being selfish, perhaps it's because this is Best Man's idea and he's got a heart of gold & just wants to do something totally amazing for h2b, and I love the fact he cares about him so much, I dunno... Just wish I could wave a magic wand, turn into a bloke for the week & enjoy it with them lol!

Whether it was specifically directed at me or not, I object to being called selfish (which I was by inclusion in the 'all') when you don't know me, and actually have completely misinterpreted the point I was making.

Just for the record, a LOT of the brides on here order their dresses from China and my dress has worked out about £20 more expensive that H2Bs Kilt hire. Funnily enough it was H2B who came to find me after his stag do. I was quite happy spending it with my girls but he missed me and walked round to see me. Not all men are the same.
