Hi All, is anyone else Just having close family and small and intimate wedding, we going Gretna Green 17 of us all together, how did ur friends take the news that if u having just family at ur wedding, we was gonna have a big receprtion ao etc but changed minds and Just want family there as our mates cant be bother making an effort half the time with us only wanna know when we having house party and its free ale all the way for them

yea were just inviting family and a best friend each but that comes to 65 people with just close family :) so not so small haha thats what i though about most friends they dont do any effort unless theres something in it for them so i though no chance are me n my h2b paying for you to have a free meal, buffet and drinks. If they dont make the effort you will have a better time without them, the most important people will be there with you :) xx

Hey was are having close family only but it still comes to 59 on my side only so won't be small but it's all family as we all live in 10 miles of each other xx

Were just having a family wedding & very very close friends! If not it gets so expensive! (Budget bride here) If they are your friends they should understand x

we're getting married in Florida so we can't expect all of our friends to come so we're only having family and then of course the friends who will be coming are the best man and the bridesmaids. We are going to have a big reception with everybody though when we come back so I think they are happy with that! We are only having 25 people at the ceremony

We are having parents, siblings and grandparents and then a few close friends and important people. Hopefully no more than 30 of us, but OH is now asking about his friends +1's!! *rolling eyes* I told him he could pay for them! lol.
My friends have been brilliant taking the news. We haven't exactly told the aunties and uncles and stuff yet, though they can't be expecting a big do like my OH's cousin cos we don't have nearly as much money as they do!

we are getting married in Eastbourne town hall which only allows 30 guests. this has caused a few problems as we have more than 30 family wanting to come let alone friends too. We have decided to have a second 'ceremony' on the beach, after the main ceremony, for those who want to join us. However we have had to say to people they will have to pay for their own meal if they want to come to the reception as we can't afford to pay fot the (currently) 100 people wanting to come.
Soon to be joined together as the Wheeler family, can't wait
