Hey, so to save money so I can put it towards the wedding itself I was thinking about doing my own hair and make-up. Now, I am really boring when it comes to my hair, it's either down or not at all. So I use now products whatsoever, but I've seen so many lovely updo hair styles I think I want to do for the wedding. What do you girls recommend using to keep the hair up and not flying all over the place? Also, I got quite sensitive skin and my skin isn't really smooth so I'm looking for a really good primer and foundation. Who sells them at a good price for sensitive skin?
I'm guessing I'll save money on this as I'll use the products over and over again. Any suggestions would be great :)

Hair spray for keeping your hair in place.
I would reccomend going to your local boots and getting a free trial from them. Some have said they made them look a little over done but at least they will suggest a decent foundation etc. The foundation may be up to 30 quid but at least it will be good stuff (and still cheaper than a professional)

Mmm I might try that :) we have a Debenhams nearby as well. I got some foundation a while a go and it make my skin sore and dry.

I would go to somewhere like MAC- products are amazing, they will make you over and teach you how to do it and what you spend on make over is redeemable against the products. I thought about doing my own as I know what I like but decided I wanted to be pampered on the day and will be too nervous to do my eyeliner straight! If you have any friends that are good with hair etc, you could rope them in? x

What about you bridesmaids? My sister is doing my hair and make up for me And just using the makeup I already have (which is from a very cheap supermarket - why spend more? Really cheap but really really good!)
I'm doing my own make up, my uncle is a hairdresser so will be doing my hair. For make up I think im gonna go to Boots and get a free make up trial and buy some new make up from there if i like it :) I have dry skin so would HATE someone else doing my make up as i know what i like and dont like. Xx

I'm totally with clbronze, have a massive collection of their stuff that I've built up over the last few years and love it, so I'll be using that & doing my own. It's not ultra cheap but worth it for the quality and the staff are great for offering tips & instructions. It's a lot cheaper in the US if you'll be going over there at all... X

i was going to do my own hair and make up, but i've managed to get a really good deal
if you have a friends/bm that would help you do your hair, that would be brilliant. there are so many tutorials online (that big site, yatube....if you know what i mean??)
you could have a real play about with your hair using hair pins (they looked impossible to use until i watched a tutorial!!). i'm going to be doing my bm's and fg's hair.
another option is to buy one of those clip in hair pieces. they are fab!! you can get them from the bay. then you would only need to put your hair into a ponytail, wrap it into a messy bun and the hairpiece clips on top of it and it's really secure!!

Oh good ol' 'tube videos. How could I forget them? I've seen make-up done in the style of the Avengers and I love it! If I stick to a green theme I want to do the Loki eye make-up I have plenty of time to practice :D I'm sure I got a friend who's good at hair (most of mine, are like me and are really lazy :P). Oooo I could try a hair piece :) sounds simple enough ... ish :P.
Thank-you for the advice!

I have mega sensitive skin (I suffer from really bad eczema and dry cracking skin) and use clarins or clinique tinted mosturiser rather than foundation, it's far lighter for every day use. I'm no experet on hair but when my uncle did our hair last year at my sisters wedding he used some hair spray and the can said "cement" on it lol - I must say, it worked, hair stayed in place all day and when I took the pins out at the end of the night, the hair still stood in place!
I will be using a professional makeup artist (she does London fashion week)though for the big day as she made me look immaculate on my sisters wedding day and I didn't react to her products and it looked perfect all day (one of the first things I booked), uncle will be doing the hair again as long as his cancer doesn't return and feels too unwell to do it (if he is ill again the makeup artist can do hair too).
