We will be having a photographer and a videographer. We thought it was worth the extra money as the memories will be there to enjoy forever. X

I have always discarded this but now i am having doubts. I have only got one quote though and it was £1000 is this about the average price? Personally it seems like a huge amount of money for a 6 min video but I would really like one

We are just going with a photographer. If it was up to H2b, we prob wouldn't even have that lol! I LOVE photos though, I am that annoying person that always has there camera out lol!

Our wedding will probably be the first time since forever that I wont have my camera or be taking pictures!!

I even think our friends will be expecting me to have a camera at our wedding haha!

I am settling for lots of professional pictures though as included on our photography package we have 3 photographers 1 of which will stay until about 10pm and a photo booth lol.

I wasn't gunna bother but now I'm not so sure, it's not something I'm willing to pay for mind, but someone getting it on camera is likely to happen now, I know I won't want anything fancy pants as the idea of watching myself on film makes me cringe but I think it would be nice to capture some moments

katie our videographer package should have been £750 but i managed to get a 10% discount so got it for £675 in the end. i have seen videographers range from about £400 for very basics to just over a £1000. if you have been quoted £1000 that should be for a good package and a good coverage throughout the day x

I would love it, we just watched my mum and dads last month 25 years on and it was so nice watching it seeing my mum getting all sentimental but I am afraid my OH will put his foot down as I have already persuaded him to go with the venue of my dreams which was a little bit more than he would have liked to spend!!! xx

I'm not that fussed about having a videographer. I'm more focussed on getting decent photographs really. I'll probably look really embarrassed and awkward all day anyway! x

DEFIANTLY! Was one of our top five must haves as it's one of 3 things that last beyond the one day and is the only thing that you can not only see but hear how people reacted on the day!
We got a fab lady who will be there all day from prep to the end of the night for £500 .......was the 3rd thing I booked ;-)

I wasnt going to bother with a video because I thought - how often am I going to sit and watch it? But the photographer and his father work together to do pictures, video and then dj in the evening as an events company so it is included in the £850 price.

I am very lucky - my god father is a videographer and therefore is doing the wedding video for us as a wedding gift - I don't think we would have booked one other wise though xx

I was having this debate only last week, decided in the end to get a mate to film it and i would edit it as i bought some software for my uni project which cost £50 i felt this was reasonable. THEN I only went and won it in a competition didnt i?!?!? Mwahahahahaa so get entering ladies you never know! (looked at their website and they are hopeless but they will be free!)

we added extra to the budget to cover having both photographer and videographer. I felt it was an important part of the day has it goes by so quick and you miss so much photos can't always pick everything up x

This is one of our regrets
As everyone tells you the day goes by so bloomin quick and there is so so much we missed
If I could change anything about our wedding, it would of been to save a little harder and book a videographer 100%!!!

I've been looking for prices there's one £395 for entrance to church, in church signing of register leaving church entry to venue? The top package is £1000 I may see if a family member has one I was thinking it would prob be cheaper to buy one? X

    We're not, for 3 reasons:

    1) Both of us cringe when we see ourselves on camera or hear ourselves on tape.

    2) Because of 1) I can't see us ever watching it unless we're REALLY drunk.

    3) While we have a big budget, it isn't unlimited; we might have considered doing it just for the crack if we had the cash spare, but, given we don't think we'd ever watch it, we'd rather spend the money elsewhere eg on better photography. The photography is super important to us and one of our biggest costs, because we know we will look at them time and time again; not so with a video.

We couldn't afford one but had my uncle and cousin step up to shoot as much of the ceremony and reception as possible, my dad is editing it all and so far it's looking amazing, reduced me to teaes it made me feel so happy.

If you can afford one I'd totally say go for it xxx

Does anyone know what the average cost for a videographer is? Keep thinking it would be nice to have one for the ceremony to save for our daughter, but I doubt we'll be able to afford it :(

Videoographers are far more expensive than I thought they would be so unfortunately we can afford it. Think we will just have a family member set up a camcorder. :)

We had our ceremony at the Registry office videoed.
The camera was just set up on a tripod and left to run.
It wasn't done professionally and hasn't been edited or anything but I'm so glad it was done!!!
It brings back memories of the day I'd forgotten!!!

Our Best Man also took some footage of the day and had it edited, sent us the DVD and we both burst into tears!!!
If you can, do it as there's some things that you won't remember??

    :-)

I wasn't going to until one of my BILs kindly offered to do it professionally for us. I prefer pictures to videos and would rather pay towards a photographer (again, family members are doing it for us professionally) but to be offered to have the marriage videoed for free I could not say 'no'.

We are planning trying to pick up a couple of identical video cameras cheap in the January sales, and then giving one to the BMs and one to the Groomsmen to video all kinds of different parts of the day. We are also going to ask anyone with a camera on the day to send us their clips and even from camera phones, and then get a friend to edit it all together! :)

We're having one as its a nice thing for our boys to see when they are older. Cheapest ive found for ceremony through to first dance is £450 but quality looks questionable, the highest price ive found is £1500 for same thing. We are probably going with one at £700 as it covers guests arriving, ceremony through to first dance and the quality looks good for the price. Always ask for a full length dvd of a previous wedding they have covered to get an idea of what the editing etc is like.
