you can buy jewellery cleaner for gold and gemstones, my mum had some she bought off qvc and it lasted for years. you just drop it into the tub and leave for a few seconds, maybe a minute, then take it out and it has a little brush so you can clean inside the gemstones, where the dust gathers, then rinse it in water and dry, sparkly!
mine needs cleaning so bad, ive just had a good look and its really dirty. i suppose it doesnt help when you do the dishes wearing it, might start taking it off to do them, or get h2b to do them lol xxx

ask the jewler to shine it up once in a while, some rings come with a yearly clean free of charge. mine is getting re-rhodiumed(sp?) this week and then again before wedding! :) x

Keep it away from hair spray sounds silly but hairspray on your crysals are not good it takes away the shine. this goes for any diamonte, crystal daimonds etc. apparently once they have gone dull you cant get them to shine again.

my jeweller who sold us my ring talked us out of white gold because it does fade and go yellow so quickly. washing up, washing your hands etc etc it all makes them fade. you do need to have them re-dipped quite often

I was told by a jeweller friend that if you drop any gold jewellery with real stones, diamonds, sapphires etc (not costume jewellery) in to a small pan of boiling water with soap powder in it (ie ariel), simmer it for 10 minutes, drain the hot water out and brush the jewellry under the cold tap with a soft toothbrush , the jewellry looks brand new. It because boiling it loosens all the soap, hand wash and general gunk that gets into the settings so it brushes out easy. I have been using this method for about 6 years and it really does work xxx

When my white gold ring lost its shine within months and where it had been resized gone yellow i took it back and they polished and cleaned it for free, maybe you could try that? I think most jewellers will also charge to get it done properly for you. Hope it helps! x

I worked in a jewellers I would recommend using tiny amount of toothpaste non whitening tho and a soft toothbrush brings any ring up looking great Never let anyone put aquamarine in an ultrasonic cleaner as it's same family as emeralds which can crack or shatter in an ultrasonic cleaner also don't leave ur ring in sunlight for long periods of time as aquamarine can fade with long term exposure to sunlight xx

Mine is white gold, the band under my finger is looking a tad dull. I can have it dipped once a year as part of the cover h2b took out on it but it needs doing now. Will have a go of the toothpaste trick i think :)
