    I think mine should be along the lines of 'Must not eat biscuits in the staff room' I am really good at home but useless at work!!
    Seriusly though after Christmas I am going to be running and also doing some simple arm toning exercises (am very concious of my arms) this will probably be with a couple of tims of beans in my bedroom!!
    Thing is though with Christmas coming up I just think that I should wait until after, but am worried that after Christmas I will find another excuse to not get off my bum!

    i know what you mean nini, this time of year is not the time to be dieting or working out is it! lol. I have quite an athletic frame and i build muscle really easily (hate my legs!) honestly i could rival a rugby player sometimes lol so im trying to concentrate on slimming down my legs and just toning up generally without getting too muscley :-/

    NIcsquared - get the squats banged out! does wonders for your thighs, theres a good one called the curtesy squat! a killer but its awesome!

    I find it hard to exercise and rubbish at dieting so used a rosemary conley dvd that shaped me up a treat for the wedding, sections to tone up all of you and in nice short 10 minute chunks to mix and match. Got a countdown going backwards for when you want to give up! My thighs and tum were my worst bits so this really helped, clothes fitted better and felt great in myself.

    I think im like you though - i have muscle and my legs dont shift - i have huge calfs as well! Probably my own fault as i tend to exercise on bikes!
    I'll give the squats a go though!

    they are a pain arent they nicsquared! i blimin hate them, i do notice a difference though when i do the squats, just have a chair behind you so you know whether your not your going down far enough.

    ditto! a lot of people that do squats dont go down far enough or lean to far forward i.e the knee goes past the toes so they dont get any benefit from them, but if you do them properly they are awesome, then if you find them too easy you can add dumbells in your hands when going down and also do one legged squats (need to have good knees for those though!)

    it just adds a bit of variety as well so your body or legs dont get bored of the same routine because thats when you "hit a wall" so to speak and you stop seeing results :-)

    i do a legs circuit workout 4x a week consisting of;

    squat down, on the way back up kick leg out to the side
    plie squat - wider legs
    single leg deadlift - tip forward on one leg, bring the back leg up behind you.
    curtesy squat - take leg behind you and squat.

    3 reps - 10-16 sets of each exercise. x

    Atonia - definitely recommend it, its the one with Coleen Nolan, me and my mom both do it. I have slacked off since i got married as I pigged out on honeymoon and then had a nasty cold but got up and back with it today as I missed it and felt sluggish :-)

    You only need some cheap little dumbells for arm toning or use water bottles/tins of beans. I've been using it ages and not got bored at all as i change it each time.

    Antonia I think you are becoming our fitness guru! I need to exercise all over. I've decided to go for a fitted dress so need to get everything toned up lol. From my wobbly arms podgey back and tummy, bum and thighs. Did I miss anything? oh yeah, if it could magic a b00b reduction that would be fab. Me and h2b ar going to the gym tomorrow after giving notice with registrar as we could both do with visiting the gym. At least we can do it together x

    I'm rediculous at trying to diet. It just doesn't happen! So I've joined a gym and try to go atleast three times a week! Good luck to everyone else xx

    haha i wish clareE, i have done my personal trainers course but im as guilty as the rest of us, i have days where i love doing exercise and then weeks where i just really dont want to! lol

    Dee37 - i will order that dvd and do it whilst im out here! im back in the UK mid january so i have a few weeks to get some panic toning and exercise squeezed in! lol x

    p90x is a really good home workout, very extreme though and not for beginners. I have just ordered it, and just watching it makes me break out in a sweat! lol Tracy Anderson's are supposed to be quite good and Davina McCall.

    there are loads of different ones each with their own different style, some yoga, some high intense, mainly toning etc.... all depends on what your after and what style of exercising you are most comfortable with

    I've just ordered them toning hot pants, Only £19 on groupon usually £45!! Gonna give them a whirl, exercise regime will kick in after the Xmas period of over indulgence lol!!

    I do running on treadmill, have been doing it twice a week for about 2mths now. When I first started it I was dying after 5mins now I can run 3 miles in 27 mins without stopping. I do need to do something about my arms though. I have dumbells so I may to start using them I think!
    Only trouble is I have always hated exercise!!!!

    I have kettle bells which are fab for toning the arms and shoulders, as well as strengthening the bottom - got some DVDs for them too which are only 10-20 mins - I've also just started boot camp 4 weeks ago which is helping with toning - my rear end is definitely more shaped!
