I can't be the only bride-to-be who's dreading the likelihood of a spot or two on her wedding day! Has anyone got any health or diet plans to achieve clear skin or a healthier glow? I am a vegetarian so fruit and veg are already the bulk of my diet...but I can't help but wonder if any treatments will help my strange combination skin?

    Anyone else facing similar issues?!

me - I get frequent outbreaks, I think caused mainly by resting my face on my hands when I'm at the computer lol. All I know is that if there is a spot before the big day put toothpaste on it overnight and it dries it up perfectly and can be covered with makeup...

makeup on a daily basis is not good for skin!!!!! Nor's smoking but I'm not planning on stopping right now.

I tend to exfoliate then moisturise with bio oil before I put on makeup (about once a week I wear it) which means that spots or no spots at least I have a smooth face for my makeup to go onto!

I have started using mineral make up, noticed my skin is a bit better.

many people swear by drinking lots of water but since reading up on it i've found out there is actually no scientific proof that '2 litres per day' has any extra health benefits so I'm not sure x

Makeup is a complete killer isn't it?! Yet it feels so strange being in public without it *cringe*! This is probably mega strange but I have never tried Bio Oil, I think the price puts me off. Is it really that useful?

As for water, I only drink water (how odd am I?!), mainly because I have mega sensitive teeth...and still I get breakouts even when I drink 4+ litres. It makes you feel a whole lot healthier though that's for sure, especially when it comes to concentration.

yeah I think that's because dehydration affects your concentration etc so as long as your hydrated then you should be fine. But as for drinking excess amounts, I don't believe that has any benefit. Drink til your not thirsty anymore and that should do the trick lol!

Have you tried the bare minerals make up? that's all natural stuff and is meant to be better for your skin x

I suffer from really bad acne! Have used every single off the shelf product, some over the counter stuff and two different things from the doctor. They work for a couple of weeks then stop, its like the spots become immune to it or something! It really gets me down at times, and can be quite painful when I have a bad breakout. I'm 23 but you'd swear i was still 13. The next option from the doctors is tablets, probably some kind of anti biotic, which i'd prefer not to do but needs must. I have a fairly healthy diet, i only wear make up when I go on special occasions and i dont smoke :(

Drinking until you're not thirsty anymore is the way forward or you'll practically become incontinent lol! Bare Minerals...I'm sure Loreal do some of that? I had one of the mineral blushes once and it was realy good quality considering the brand. I use Clarins at the moment but I am very tempted to switch brands as it's doing nothing for my skin. A good brand is supposed to be Arbonne as it is all natural without the chemicals but it's soo expensive...shame really.

Ah Panther I can totally relate...my mum always used to say it'd clear once I got out of my teens and yet I'm 22 with skin just as bad as it was back then! I used Germolene once for my spots and it worked miracles but man did it dry out my skin, it was terrible. Sometimes I reckon it's just all down to skin type, maybe we're more prone than others xx

not sure about the lorea'l one but bare minerals is its own brand, you get in in Frasers or Debehnams. It's by Bare Escentuals. it is quite expensive but you can buy starter kits etc that include all the brushes which are quite good value x

I get bad spots too and I'm 23, I had a facial last week and I've just done it again tonight. It was free too by a company that do a range of skincare products for all skin types. I have combination skin which is a mixture of oily and dry skin, I find it really awkward balancing moisturisers and what not for my skin. but tonight my skin feels great. If you want to know more send me a message and I'll send you some more details xx

I have really bad skin, its sensitive and I suffer with really bad eczema all over my body and spots on my face chest and back. I've tried lots of different stuff and nothing really helps. I tried freederm cream which was suppose to be brilliant but to be honest its crap, if anything its so thick your skin can't breathe and makes more spots.. Anyway, h2b treated me to a clinique set, cleanser toner moisturiser and then body butter and body wash.. I love it!! I've seen a huge difference in under a week, cleanse tone etc twice a day, use the body butter every time you get out of the shower. I love it. BUT I am still going to my Gp for new creams for my eczema and will be speaking to him about anti biotics for the spots as I really don't want a break out before the wedding, worst nightmare

i also would like advice for my skin, though mine is not limited to my face. since being a little girl i have suffered with lumpy bumby skin, it's only in recent years i have found out its keritinosis polaris. i get dry yet oily skin, but my body produces too much keratin and it forms in tiny lumps everywhere. i have to exfoliate heavily on a regular basis to try to feel smooth but you can still see it. the only thing i have found that actually works is the sun or a sunbed which is not good. i get really upset with my skin because theres nothing that can be done to cure it, im stuck with it :( but some advice on any products or other types of treatments that could help would be great x

I've heard that about goats milk before. But if you can't stomach it, I look after a little girl who had the worst eczma I've ever seen, her parents tried her with different diets and the one that really worked was to have a dairy free diet, it really helped her skin clear up and now you would never know she had such bad eczma xx

Retanin-A is a cream that gps can prescribe for the keratosis, just been reading about it so I'm going to book a doctors appointment, it's meant to be good for spots too!

I'm def giving the dairy free diet a go, just swap it for soya when I drink tea or coffee. I will speak to my go too though as there's alot of food that contain dairy and you wouldn't know! xx

I think aside from drinking plenty of water which I used to do but hate having to go to the toilet every 10 minutes, lol, doing a juicing diet a couple of weeks before the wedding will have your skin glowing! I had great skin as a teenager but am prone to spots occassionally on my chin, it is like I have acne underneath my skin just waiting to surface! But i did Jason Vales juicing diet and it helped me lose weight, give me energy and cleared up my skin. I got a break out after a few days along with headaches as all the toxins in my body had to come out somewhere but after that it was great. The author himself used to have eczema all over his body and doing his juicing plan he has got rid of 95% of it, so it has to be good! :) x

I'm 21 and veggie - but since I stopped drinking and staying out all night and started looking after myself and my skin, it's been worse than ever... typical, huh? I've tried a lot of things lately to try and get my skin back to the way it used to be but the only thing that's worked is switching to Lush products! I use all the make-up I used before (Clinique's Anti-Blemish foundation is quite good for coverage and as long as it's used properly does what it says on the bottle!) and am a complete chocoholic but my skin is still improving.

I use all Lush products for my skincare routine and use their colour supplements under my foundation - so far my skin is better than it has been in years! I use Angels on Bare Skin face scrub, Breath of Fresh Air toner and Vanishing Cream moisturiser with the Jackie Oates colour supplement - and completely recommend them all to anyone!

I used to get a few as a teenager so tried loads of fancy spot treatments, they never worked and sometimes I felt made them worse. So I switched to a soap (d0ve brand) and just used soap and water twice a day and my skin has been clear ever since. I use c0c0a butter afterwards to stop my skin from drying out.

Plus I use a nice facial scrub every Sunday which helps give my skin a deeper clean. x

It's been a tough week not putting on the slap and i cringe when people look at me, but i've noticed a difference. I'm 25 and have suffered since i was 8 so i can relate to most woman xx

I have found a great product if you do feel a spot starting up, before you go to bed, you rub a little on, and it's calmed down by the morning - at least for me anyways - Decleor Aromessence Rose D'Orient Night Balm. It's a little pricey, but rather than use it on my whole face, I just put a little on any irritated places.
