    Hello everybody

I'm Grace and new to the site. I am having a civil partnership in 2013 and am right at the beginning of the planning process. Just wondering if there are any other ladies planning a gay wedding?

My wedding is going to be very much traditional so advice from everyone is really welcome (I'm a very girly girl!) but there are several, shall we say, gay specific challenges that I'd love to rant about!

    Do get in touch please.

    Grace

Hi Grace! Welcome to the site and congratulations to you and your fiance. I'm not gay, but two of our friends are and have been engaged for three years and have been trying to find a free time when other friends/family aren't getting married so they can tie the knot! I think it may happen next year and I'm going to try to get them to come on here (I love this site).
Feel free to rant away in the mean time and happy planning! Hx

    Thanks everyone :-)

My fiancee and I are going to be the first of our friends to tie the knot so I have very few people to get advice from. I've never even been to a gay wedding! Planning is going to be a challenge :-s but I'm looking forward to it, of course!

I certainly do!! Absolutely beautiful place. My family live in Wrexham and Deeside...and I actually have an Aunty that lives in Ruthin. Stunning area. You will be very happy there! I also know an IMMENSE photographer. Do you have facebook so I can send you her details. If I was getting married in North Wales I would deffo of had this photographer. I am in love with her work.

Are both you and your fiance going to be wearing dresses? Or will one be in a suit or something more causual? Did you watch the episode on dont tell the bride where 2 ladies married? xxxx

I saw a post from JEm1905 on another thread. She is having a civil partnership. One of the girls i went to school with had a civil partnership. We are using the photographer she had and some of the photos are in the photographers portfolio. They both wore white dresses and both look absolutely stunning!

Both my partner (Elle) and I are very girly so we'll be doing the full on white wedding with dresses, just minus the church (damn law won't allow it...) and with double the drama :-p I absolutely LOATHED that episode of Don't Tell the Bride. it made me cringe- soooooo stereotypical.

LolaMay0412 thanks for the tip! I'll contact JEm1905.

Lesbian bride right here! We wanted to stick to as much "traditional" as such as we could but of course we have to add our gay touches in there. :)

    Hi ladies,

With regards to getting similar or totally different wedding dresses, this reminded me of a wedding i saw photographed on a photographers facebook page. I have put the link on my wall if you want a nosey. They were identicle twins (both ladies), who got married the same day at the same time. They both had the same veil and tiara and bouquets, but had different dresses, which REALLY worked. xxx

OH has agreed to have a dress for the ceremony, and we are ahving the same dress. I think it just best to go with what you feel. They dont have to be the same.
At one point we did consider her in baby pink and me in baby blue.... but ended up in white
