We want to get married in 2016 maybe September/ October. Like you guys we want to spread the costs and not have to sacrifice what we want because we cant afford it.

Hey :) we're getting married 16.07.2016 and have already started planning as like you want to spread the costs especially as we have little one and bad financial year lol, plus I love the date so much don't want to change it lol. We've decided on reception venue just waiting for 2015 prices to come out and have managed to haggle them so I get 2016 for 2015 prices and willow rock my magic to get extras too hopefully hehe. Church is booked, got my wedding shoes as we're a bargain. And know what I want my daughter to wear and sort of know centrepieces. So defo not too early as gives you chance to get bargains :) x

Yeah me and my fiance have booked our wedding 1st August 2015.
We have booked our church and our reception.
I dont think its too early!
My sister is planning her wedding for next year and she has had difficulty in getting what she wants as in cars etc I am thinking of it as we have the choice of whatever we want!

Booked my venue now, we are officially getting married on 2nd September 2016!!!! I've been so excited I can hardly sleep most nights!!! I have just bought a massive "wedding box" so I can start buying bits and bobs and storing them. I bought some cute butterflies to sit on the wine glasses. Having 3 years to plan means my day will be perfect!!! xx

Myself & my partner are hoping to marry on either saturday 28th or sunday 29th may 2016, this will fall on a bank holiday weekend & the kids will be on school holiday. This will make booking our honeymoon a lot easier, as our family will happily have the kids if they dont have to do school runs.
We will hopefully be viewing venues within the next few weeks, we have picked our favourite venue from internet pictures & they are also coming in cheapest so far.
How much deposit do you normally have to put down?

We've been very lucky in that the lady at our venue likes us so much that she has booked our date without a deposit!

We have set our date in feb 2016
Im new to all this
We have picked our venue that we both love,
And we are soon off to pay our deposit.
We got a package deal at a good rate of £2100 for the venue (60 guests in day and 100 evening)' ceremony, 3 course wedding breakfast, table decorations, chair covers, mc, and evening reception and food)
However, the deposit required is £1000
Thats nearly 50% deposit of the cost, is this normal do you think?
We have just realised, that to secure other things for the day e.g. Registrar, photographer, cars, entertainment, suits etc will require deposits also and its quite a big chunk so early on?
What do you all think!

Hahaha, you sound like us Emma... We've changed dates about 5 times so we can sort everything and get what we want for lower prices and other such things so you're not alone!! You're only getting married about 5/6 weeks after us too :D
Why don'y you just do the 'dressing' yourself if you are that meticulous? ;) xx

Awwww, that's lovely :) we chose ours because it's between both sets of parents' wedding anniversaries (7th and 20th)!! Thought it was a nice tribute to them as well as it's because of them why we are here! xx

Hi all I'm new to this page. I'm getting married on 6th august 2016 and so excited. We have booked the church and reception and I have bought my shoes as they were in the sale and gorgeous :-) also got my dress after trying loads on this is the one I fell in love with and if I paid in full (which I did) I got my veil and tiara for free. My family and friends sound the same as yours SandraG54. That's all they keep saying to me :-( x

Hi Catherine I've unblocked my profile now :) I'm getting married at St Wilfrids church in West a Hallam Derbyshire and we are having our reception at Draycott House as it is a family friend. My family just don't seem interested at the minute as they keep saying its 2 years away :( sounds like your plans are all coming together too :) x

I know exactly what you mean. You can't help but be excited can you. I just think it's my day if I want to talk and be excited about it then I can be :) lol it is lovely and we're having a big marquee up n it's got a lake next to it so hopefully the weather is how a august summer day is meant to be and we can get some nice photos :) fingers crossed lol x

Hello Ladies,

Just joining 2016 crew, was previously valentines 2015, however due to a family member being seriously ill we've decided to postpone another year, I am a little disheartened as been planning our special day for 3+ years but at the end of the day it is very important to us that the family member in question's health takes priority over anything else, and at the end of it all as long as I marry the love of my life i'll be happy, also as I am due our second child in june this year, will give me plenty of time to focus on our little boy and not rush wedding things plus he will be a little older come our day :)

how cool we're going to have the same married name lol and thank you for congrats its our second Lo we have a 4 year old girl and he has a 11 year old boy from previous, time sure does fly but I cannot wait for him to be here, suffering really bad the second time around lol undecided on his role but probs page boy too :) yes we booked our venue in 2012 but so much has happened that not many payments got made, my h2b's mum got ill and now in recovery and now his dad is unwell :-( but thankfully the venue have been very understanding with us and are happy to change our date for the second time but it has to be the last otherwise they will expect us to pay full amount whether we get married or not which is a bit harsh but understandable x

Yeah that's what I figured hence why I am not to annoyed just a little sad as 3+ years planning drives ya mad lol, just with everything that's gone on I'm hoping luck finds its way to us, well more so for my H2b than me, I mean in my eyes I am lucky I have my family who are a great support, our daughter and our soon to be son (due june) and I have the love of my life now all I want is to be his Mrs and life is complete :) haha just realised how soppy that sounds
