Tried on my dress again today with veils so I could start thinking about what I'm going to do for my hair! It was the sample dress but still, what difference does that make for this! All so exciting! Have had a week of wedding planning this week! Seeing the caterer on Wednesday night... been off work! Back to work on Thursday! Boo!

h2bs mum just text me saying she will get a sample invitation made to send back with h2bs relative so we can see what it will be like! its exciting! I am bridesmaid for my brothers wedding, which is before mine... got to buy my own dress, shoes, sort out own hair make up n all that, their wedding present, and now hen do im starting to worry about having enough money for everything I need to save for... :( I don't even get on with her....she hates my guts lol weddings are stressful! :( xx

Yeah it is expensive to be part of someone's wedding... I've been bm twice already this ear! (Eep!) and we've attended 4 weddings with another in two weeks and one in December so our purse strings are pretty threadbare... I didn't purchase my bm dresses but I bought my shoes, makeup, hair, presents, hotel stay overs and gone through countless amounts of petrol... I love love love my friends dearly but o my days! Lol....

Lol I know my flowers r fake! Anyone having trouble with mum? I am... Well it's not really trouble but it could make things really awkward... Obvs I want all my girls to get ready together and yep it's usual to go from mum an dads house but... Mum has said to me that she doesn't want h2bs sis in her house because she doesn't like her... So I said well everyone can get ready at mine... It's near for everyone and handy for the makeup girl and hair dresser... But mum has then said 'but I won't be there' I thought it would've been preferable for her and dad (esp dad as being the only bloke lol) to get ready without stressing out or anything and there's enough room for my girls to all stay over the night before... Also I want my best friend (not a bm due to budgets and she's fine with it, so all my bms are family bar fg) and her little girl (is our fg) to come in the car with the girls... I would need my friend there as the fg doesn't know any of the girls and she's only gonna be 2 and a half... So, they will all fit in the car together but minus mum... I would quite like it if both mum and dad came in te car with me... What are people's thoughts on that? X

aww that's a nice idea, having your mum and dad go in the car with you :) I don't live near my parents and getting married where I live....my mum wanted us to stay in a hotel (where my reception will be) but I kept telling her I wanted to be at home... from experience so far with wedding planning and my mum......my mum doesn't listen...I have to repeat myself a thousand times before she hears me lol...n then she is absolutely fine with it.. my dad will be staying too but my dad is the kinda guy to just sit there and letit all go over his head, so im not worried (yet lol) about him being the only bloke in the house.. you just need to remember its your day...so its whatever you want :) xx

I bought all my thank you gifts last night 25% off on a website so thought might aswel! :D just got bridesmaids to get now but know what I'm getting them! :-) Can't wait to see all the gifts, they are getting delivered to my mums because me and h2b are never in lol so don't know when I will Actually get to see them! i got a silver tankard for my dad and its engraved, saying "thankyou Dad, lots of love Victoria & Alex 24/5/14" ....im only Victoria to my parents omg i hate it haha... lex's dad we got him a posh silver lighter engraved with the similar, and ushers (our brothers) Hip flasks they aren't engraved as have a leather cover on them...
i wanted things that they will keep and not loose or break....
and big silver engraved photo frames saying similar to presents for Dads....cant wait to pick them up from my mum... was going to get mums flowers but lex's mum wont be able to take them back on the plane lol.
going to get necklace for bridesmaids i think..
also bought some confetti to put in a basket at back of church...apparently everyone always forgets the confetti at a wedding (i think i was being lied to about that aha) but the church is strict about no confetti inside the church grounds, so at least we can put a sign with it to say not in church grounds!
ooohh we got disposable cameras too for tables for wedding breakfast...different style of photo to what the photographer would do lol...

Only 11Months and 5days to go!!!!! Exciting! Months seem to be flying by!!
I am nearly all done :-/ Eeek! Will need a new project. Here is what I have done so far:
Picked Dress and paid deposit Booked 2 weeks in Cyprus & Paid Booked Wedding (Day & Evening Venue) & Reception Menu Bought Shoes Got the BM Dresses Sent out invitations to all family and friends Purchased wedding insurance Bought underskirt Picked and bought both of our wedding bands Organised photographer & DJ for Reception
All I really have left to do is:
Find Veil & Tiara Buy FG dresses and accessories Pick wedding cake design & flowers when we arrive in cyprus Assist the men in suit shopping Buy underwear Decide on Hair style Shop for h2b present (leave that until a month before we go or I will slip up) Shop for holiday clothes
Most of that I cant do until the new year :-)

wwwweelllll....this week, got a quote from the flower lady, took her ages as she was waiting from a quote from her supplier...think we will be approx £50 over budget if we book with this lady! but h2b says its upto me, and he doesn't mind if we go over budget as we have saved on everything else so far! so think I got my flower lady sorted!!! :D :D also, h2b mum making invitations, she was having a play around came up with something completely different to what we were wanting but we absolutely LOVE it!! so she started making them today!! will put a pic on my page of the sample she did! officially less than 11 months to go!...I cant wait!! everyone says it will go fast...so I hope so...

Made plan and schedule for every month to the wedding Made 2 week plan for run up to wedding Made 1 week plan for run up to wedding Made Day before Plan for run up to wedding Made on the day plan for wedding!
Bought jars to hang in trees and cyalumes to put in the jars!
Looked at honeymoons
Started making table plans...invitiations, svae the dates, order of services, menus, table place settings....

Nice work on the toiletry basket... I have that in the 2 week run up plan as my Mother's job... we stock pile sanctuary handwash so will be putting some of that in or waiting til the 2 for 2 again at boots and getting 2x handwash 1 x moisturiser (for the ladies!) plus advantage card points!

LisaD I'm the same date as you, 9th May :) we booked our venue last month which does the catering, I've booked registrar, hairstylist, have my dress, florist (she's a bridesmaid!), cake (a friend of the same BM), Have booked appointments with a couple of photographers we like, evening entertainment is booked!
I want everything done before Christmas as I work in retail so goes a bit mental in Nov and Dec lol! Only my BM dresses have to wait, as one is due to have her baby December, and the other is trying so we don't know how big she may be, u was a bit worried at first but then I thought I can take advantage of the January sales...winner!!
Valentina...you are very organised! Would you mind sharing your 1 and 2 week plan up to wedding on my wall?! I am really struggling with the last minute list so worried I will forget something lol :)

Hi! Had our meeting with our caterer - well excited now! We've sortve decided on...
Wedding breakfast:
Starter: cream of lettuce soup...yes lettuce!!! Main: chicken breast in pancetta with forstier sauce with crushed new potatoes and seasonal veg... Desert: profiteroles, strawbs, meringue and cream...
Buffet:
Chicken korma Spinach, red pepper and ricotta cheese pasta steak and ale cobbler Pulled pork loin in BBQ sauce-served with barns, apple sauce, onions and mustard.... selection of fresh breads potato salads coleslaw salt and pepper cheesey wedges plus more... Not having any deserts with that though because of cake and sweet table.... Sounds NOMMMMMMY!!! xxxxxx

I feel like I've stalled over the past few weeks as have been very busy with work!
Got some stuff for the pew ends and some small bits for bridesmaids gifts plus got the baskets to do my toiketry baskets!
All niff naff abd triv though. Need to get stationery made, decide on menu, get entretainment and sort out hair stylist!
