Micky - could you pop the details of your hairdresser/mua on my wall please?

We're getting married at West Tower xx
CommentAuthorBev
West Tower is stunning! I bet you can't wait x
CommentAuthorclairenina
Really looking forward to it Bev. We were initially going to get married in Spain (me going on the electoral role at Mum's house), but we only went to West Tower to go to a wedding fayre. It fitted all into place, as my fiance comes from Aughton (where West Tower is), and they did a great package deal. It just felt right to book it. We hadn't thought of it before, as we thought it would be out of our budget. x
CommentAuthorBev
It's such a pretty venue! We went to view it but decided it was just a little too far for our families to get too (we went for somewhere central). How's the planning going? X
CommentAuthorclairenina
Pretty well I think. I have nothing to measure it by, so not sure if I'm doing well or not. The only things left to do are, for my fiance to sort his suit, flowers, cake, pay for ice cream cart, pay for chair covers/sashes, book registrar (next week). Need to buy rings. There are things we need to do with the venue (pick meals, wine etc, but we won't do that until after our tasting session). Save the dates are being posted out in January (somebody advised me not to do it in December, as people receive enough Christmas cards in December). Invites to be picked, paid for and posted by March. I have no family at all round here, there's only my fiance's parents close to the venue. We also have no friends around here either. Everyone will have to travel & stay over. My Mum is coming over from Spain lol. How are you getting on Bev? x

CommentAuthorclairenina
I know what you mean Bev, I'm not going to do much more until January (apart from try and lose weight haha) x
CommentAuthorHayley Elizabeth
I'm getting married in Conway, it's far enough away that i don't have to invite too many people haha!
Has anyone sent out their invites yet?
My mother in law was going on about it so i eventually made them, then handed them out - now she's said it's too soon. I just can't win! Good job i haven't sent them all out otherwise i would have looked like a right wally! xx

CommentAuthorclairenina
I haven't sent my save the date cards out yet. Might have to sit down with my fiance, and finalise our list of people, an get the save the date cards out soon
CommentAuthorclairenina
We've had a busy couple of weeks, so we will hopefully start to look at who we are inviting this weekend
CommentAuthorHayley Elizabeth
Do you have a round about number? We originally said 50... lol! xx
CommentAuthorBev
Hi Ladies
How are your plans coming along?
Going to talk to another florist on Saturday! Can't wait :) x
CommentAuthorclairenina
Hope all goes well with the florist Bev.
We have official numbers that we have as a part of the package (40 including us 2), but we can add on for the evening if we need to
CommentAuthorHayley Elizabeth
We have a package like that. We can have up to 180 evening guests if we want (although i will be giving that a miss lol!). I'm not sure i even know that many people! xx
CommentAuthorclairenina
Same here Hayley, I'm also now worried that the people we do invite might say they can't come. (we get married on a Tuesday)
CommentAuthoralmost a year wife!!
Hi all! Did anyone seethe article in the echo about the groom that caused a bomb scare at St. George's hall? Basically he didn't book it for their wedding and the bride turned up etc etc... And to save face he called the police and reported 'a suspicious object' police and army arrived, ruining the big day etc... He's now single and in prison...
Personally I think the was a bit silly... How could she not have known the venue wasn't booked? She'd have to have an interview!!!
Ill marry my hero
CommentAuthorHayley Elizabeth
OMG that is just crazy!! The poor woman! xx
CommentAuthorAna40
I think it's a sad situation for the couple. If she wasn't told she needed an interview then she wouldn't know. If her h2b was sorting it she wouldn't nessecarily look into it. I've never enquiries about st George's and so I've no idea on what they require. X

I'm a liverpool bride!!!! Been in this forum for ages but hadn't noticed this page... Nice to read about something with some familiarity. I get married in feb, 12 weeks on fri at the racquet club in town.... Can't believe how quick it's come around....

Nicola we have booked the same venue. I must say you have great taste. Ha ha. X
CommentAuthorNicolaF34
It's gorgeous isn't it.,have you had your menu tasting yet? Had our last month, they certainly didn't skimp on the wine. I was rather merry! X
CommentAuthorAna40
Nope not yet, the wedding is in June so think it will be nearer the time. I do love a selection of wine, ha ha. X
CommentAuthorclairenina
I'm not sure when our tasting will be, maybe at the beginning of next year. Looking forward to it x
CommentAuthorStephanieK94
Nicola and Anna, I am also getting married in the Racquet Club in just under a months time.
CommentAuthorAna40
Oh that's so soon, you must be so excited. X
CommentAuthorNicolaF34
Oh exciting Stephanie bet it will fab! Seems to be a really popular place x
CommentAuthorStephanieK94
I am excited yet petrified too! Had our final meeting with Sue this morning so it feels very very real now! x
CommentAuthorclairenina
Sounds lovely, I know someone who got married at the Racquet Club. Her photo's are lovely
CommentAuthorNicolaF34
Good luck Stephanie sure you'll have a fantastic day. What have you chosen for food if you don't mind me asking? X
CommentAuthorStephanieK94
Thanks Nicola. Yes, sure. We are having tomato soup, chicken breast and sticky toffee pud. We loved the lamb shank too but think chicken is a safer option as some people are funny about lamb. Our evening food is the traditional hot choices, lasagne, scouse, chilli etc. Have you chosen yours yet?
CommentAuthorNicolaF34
I'm having the goats cheese, chicken and brownie. I agree the chicken is a safe choice. I fancied changing the main to scouse but the other half doesn't fancy it. In the night we are having the bacon/sausage barms and fish and chips. I'm hoping there will be enough good as we seen to have invited more than originally catered for! Oops. X

Well we have perhaps 170-190 coming to the evening but are only catering for 160! It's so hard deciding how many to cater for. I keep meaning to ask if their portions are average/generous or what. We are already paying soooo much money for evening food that I refuse to add any more!!
