Well Rachel I had a hunch, then my mum bought me a reading for my birthday and in my reading i was told only 3 bridesmaids would be at the wedding, she said one was jealous and I could understand who she was talking about. Then I sent invites out etc and they should be back to me by 5th march, this one hasn't acknowledged the invite even and she hasn't been in touch, except to ask why her sis and mum have only been invited to the evening (I hardly know them, I only invited them to the evening to make her happy) and I haven't heard anything since, I am waiting until the 5th to see if she sends the RSVP back but I just don't think she will....

Hopefully she will contact you and there won't be an issue. We've got a meeting with tea and cake with the church on Friday. Just by happy coincidence the venue is also having a wedding open day so it's working out quite well. X

" not decided on my ring yet h2b got his but one i really liked was nearly 3 x what i wanted to pay ! Went to a wedding fair on Sunday and seen a few more i liked so went to his jewellers the other day and waiting on prices for one that would be unique so hoping its within budget x not booked honeymoon yet as making sure the wedding is all set. We have 3 children so we were undecided if we were going to take them with us ? They all at school so my sisters and our mums have offered to watch them ! So were to go ? Were is everyone going on honeymoon? Were not really beach people so was thinking Italy or Switzerland ? Would love Thailand but its out of season and maybe a Lil to far away from the kids ? We want to explore and do things we wouldn't do wiv the kids ? Any ideas ?

Rachel we are going Italy on honeymoon and doing a little trip starting in Venice then Rome ending is Tuscany :)
Can't believer how much stress can come from a wedding though and how everyone has such views when it should be about the two of you getting married. That's the stressful part lol

Italy sounds great for a honeymoon, I do love Italy. We are thinking of tahiti but I think we may have to have a postponed honeymoon. Switzerland sounds really interesting for a honeymoon. A friend of mine went to lapland for hers. Stacey I think youre right, if people didn't have opinions it would be alot easier. X

Some people are so rude Stacey! They should think them self lucky they got an invite at all ! We haven't sent out evening invites out yet as waiting for h2b family to get back to us if there coming then can invite some of my friends to the day as well as evening. Just having 60 day guests which is 30 each side h2b hasn't got a lot of family so he is inviting a few of his close friends to the day. Then an extra 60 at night !
everything is so expensive i don't think people who r not getting married understand how expensive everything is!
Italy is looking really hopeful have seen a really good tour in Switzerland and Geneva we both like too so going to see which is best? Was going to take kids Cyprus or Italy in august so will take a look which to do as they r like us can spend 2 days max on a beach or a sun lounger then were bored!! So Italy wud also be good wiv the kids going to Rome and Pompeii etc only thing putting me off Switzerland and the same with Italy is the weather as wud like to get a suntan too and its only like over here :-( we thought of Switzerland as its bigger than Scotland ( which we love) but smaller than Canada ( too expensive) and there are lots of places to visit .

I posted my invites out on wed (2nd class), I had people messaging me on Thursday saying that they had received it, and I had my first RSVP yesterday (on fb)!!
Also this week, the bridesmaid dress has turned up (it fits but is MUCH too long!!), I've ordered my guestbook, postbox and activity packs for the kids off 4m4z0n, and I've designed and ordered 250 cards for the wedding pictures app (from vprint, as it was MUCH more expensive to order through the official site, and at least its now personal!)
I can't believe how nicely its all coming together!!!

Finished off the bridal party emergency kit poems on Saturday morning too and they are all rolled up and secured with ribbon and safe in the organza bags for everyone. Hog roast paid and reciepted, meeting with the photographer on the 19th to discuss the snaps we most definately want. Arrrgh so much to do!!! Doing a lot of it on my own at the moment, as Dave is now in our new village 150 miles away, and I am slowly packing the odds and ends we dont need every day as I will be moving out there after the wedding. Means every time Im making the journey over there, Im taking a few boxes with me. Hopefully I wont pack anything important haha

Ive had my first four RSVPs through in the past three days, and one couple cannot attend and have already bought us a gift off the registry! I never thought I would get so excited about such little bits and pieces happening! But I guess it is because it makes it feel so much more real, that 12 weeks today I will be getting married to my best friend, and we can be mad together for the rest of eternity. lol

Had a bit of a rough week. The lady who was meant to be marrying us, a friend of Dave's, who we had gained permission to come do the wedding, filled in forms etc, told me on Thurs night that they had looked at accommodation prices and couldnt come. So this means they couldnt do our wedding either :( Ive spoke to Inverness Registrar General and informed them, and they will appoint one of the local registrars to do the wedding instead. So a bit sad. But then had the FMIL on the phone the next morning asking if we would consider moving the wedding down closer to them because its looking like a lot of them cannot attend. THIS annoyed me. Everyone has had since we got engaged and planned it being here to think about the fact the wedding is here. They got given accommodation lists with their Save the Dates, and yet hardly anyone has booked accommodation! Now a few are complaining that they cant possibly come to the wedding as its too far and they cant afford it, and that would be fine, and a very fair comment, if it werent immediately followed by "why cant they move it down here? It wont cost them too much to change it!"
Um...because thats not where we live, thats not where we love, its not where we planned to get married. It has no significance to US, my family wouldnt be able to reach it and attend. Oh and nevermind the £5000 we have spent to get it to this stage! Oh no, to save you £35 B&B, your lunch, and your fuel, Dave and I will magically pull another £5000 out of our backsides and put it on your doorstep instead.
So I think we are in the bad books. Oh well, OOOOOPS!! lol

I think people just don't realise the work that goes into planning a wedding and the stress that comes with it!

Oooh Rachel, thats a shame!! Brilly on here posted an idea about turning a magazine file holder on its side and dressing them up with paper to match your theme and filling with sweeties! They looked amazing!

Had a great weekend chilling with one of my bridesmaids, only bad thing was she was forced to tell me what my other bridesmaid had planned for my hen do. I am blooming glad she did. For 6 months the bridesmaid who is with me just now has been telling the other one(the one who has caused problems throughout) that I am not the kind of girl to enjoy inflatable willies etc nor skimpy outfits, and the other bridesmaid has just carried on her merry way buying bits and bobs and not listening. Despite my fiance also telling her there was no way in heck I would wear a skimpy uniform to the local pub.
So the non-trouble bridesmaid told me all about it and we spent a day chilling out at the pub (not something I usually do) trying to figure out how the heck to get out of this. I only wanted to drive back from inverness with a chinese takeaway, have a few drinks in the house, make paper flowers, maybe go to the pub, and watch a film. This, I was happy with. Not inflatable willies and other phallic things. I am just not the girl that finds that all that funny. So we eventually managed to get the local pub to confirm they dont allow dressing up like that, so PHEW could tell her that was one of the reasons we werent doing what she wanted. But in order to wear the outfit she has chosen, in a fun way (again, all I seem to do is keep the peace) is to opt for a blackening (taken down the beach, tied up and eggs, flour, etc thrown over you) while wearing the outfit (with leggings and a cardie). So we think we have averted disaster. I may sound like a prude or a fuddy duddy, but that stuff is just NOT me. :( Im beginning to think her continued aggro is because my wedding isnt how SHE would do it. But hopefully thats the end of that issue.
Off to show my non-trouble bridesmaid the wedding venue now :) Happy happy happy!

I would be ok if people would stop mucking us around! lol

My rsvp deadline is on Wednesday and Im still waiting on 43 people to actually respond! Some of which is my sister and 4 kids, my gran, my aunt and her parnter and my cousin and his partner. I actually had to send a msg in the family book of face pm to them asking what their plans are. All I got was a vague response from my sister that she would be there for the day, with three of the kids. I feel like saying, there are all four kids on your invite, get a definite frikken answer and tell me before wednesday. I want to say to my aunt, get a move on, and same to my cousin and gran. They have been the most reluctant people ever. I get annoyed because we went to my aunts wedding on the isle of Wight, despite living the top of Scotland, we did the same for my sister, we helped them move, we helped my gran move several times. All im asking is that they make a decision and tell me. but all im getting is half-ar5ed responses which tell me nothing. If they dont reply, they wont be coming as far as Im concerned at this point, because I have finally reached that moment of, why am I bothering with you lot, you have never been anything but a hinderance. :(

So hey ho, other than that, things are good~! Its my birthday on wednesday too, and my friend is coming over to do my make up and hair trial, so I am trying to be positive and think on that instead of my family! lol

How is it going for all our other June ladies and gents?

OMG 7 weeks today for me! It's going OK, I've been really stressed out for the last couple of weeks (partly wedding stuff, partly other stuff) and felt absolutely horrible so I'm trying to calm myself down and try to enjoy the excitement. I had my dress fitting last night so that was nice and brought a bit of the excitement back. I've lost weight and dropped from a size 14 to a 10 so it needs taking in by quite a bit! Was lovely to put it on again, I go back on 14th May when it should be all finished :-)

Other than that not much going on, last month was very productive and we sorted lots of things like flower girl dresses, my shoes, veil, mens suits (well trousers and shirts - they're not wearing jackets etc as it'll be soooo hot) etc. Just a few bits left to sort now like favours, mens ties, trousrers and shirts for my 3 year old and my friend's 5 year old.

Oh and had an email from my wedding planner this morning letting me know that our legal documents have made it over their safely so that's a big relief! Just waiting on the kids passports arriving now :-/ xx

Less than 60 days for us all now how are you all feeling? We saw the Registrar yesterday to go through details and suddenly it all became very real!! I've had some good news- my mum's secondary cancer has not spread any further, in fact where it had been is now half in size :) it's made a huge difference to her knowing that although the chemo has been horrendous and put her in hospital with complications, it's working really well. She might need more, we'll know today, but it does mean that there's every possibility she will make it to the wedding....last week it seemed she'd be too frail.
So it's all systems go for us now. My dress is back this week but she doesn't want me to have a fitting as I'm still loosing weight so that will be in about 4 weeks time. We still need to get the favours sorted (Cancer Research Wales badges) and the table plan and place settings but most things are done.
I'd love to know how you're all doing xx

Good news on your mum Rachel!!!

So far, so good with us, 5 weeks and 3 days for us and its all coming together. Went and paid for the cake today, so that is another thing to tick off my seemingly never ending list of things to do haha.
We are moving house two weeks after the wedding, so we have everything to try and sort out for that too, which isnt much fun! But we got news today that the house we have applied to rent, we have been accepted for, so that was a massive relief for us (esp since i went for a job interview today and didnt get it *sad face* ) So it was nice to get that good news at least.

Just £600 left to pay now, £300 on the night for the band, £200 budget for us to make buffet food, £60 for enough helium for our baloons, and £40 for one more box of prosecco. And that...is it... :) Which really is just as well given we have to save up to move and then be frugal for a while if I dont immediately find work! Eeeek!!

    Hope everyone else is ok!!

My dress isn't in the shop yet it was due last Monday. Not getting too stressed about it but will be happier when it arrives. Just tried the boys converse on them and Yeahhhhh they fit. My 16 yr old wears a size 12 they look like boats!! Going to sort out the table plan later and send it off ready to print. Hen weekend 2 weeks time and getting my hair and make up trial that morning so looking forward to that. Still can't tell if I'm excited or terrified!!

I've had a stressful couple of weeks! My dress arrived at the shop, but wouldn't do up! I have had to find a local seamstress to try and let it out by 2 inches. I had the fitting last weekend, and she has performed a miracle with it! She has made it fit perfectly, I am so happy!!
I've also had an email from the lady who's doing my cake topper. She has included a picture of the work in progress, and it's better than I could have hoped for!
3 weeks to go, and I've been excited/nervous/stressed all at the same time! Now I've come down with a sodding cold! Better now than the big day!

Hen do this weekend and I am beyond excited, scared but excited. Everything seems to be coming along now and pretty much everything is paid for except the gifts, table plan and table names.

Little worried as without even trying I have lost 3lb since my final dress fitting so I am worried now that if I am loosing weight without trying will I loose more?

So its off the chip shop for dinner :)

But I just put everything to the back of my mind and get on with it and I am so glad I did I had both my make up and hair trial done and it was great and my chicks were brilliant, now I can say 3 weeks on Saturday and I can't wait xxx
