I've just had my 30th and managed a rain free BBQ on saturday :) Always have to make the effort and celebrate the big ones! Not so sure about being 30 tho!?

Hi everyone, i'm getting married June 3rd! Taking advantage of a double bank holiday to recover! How far into the planning is everyone? I seem to have hit a wall and don't know what I should have decided by now lol. I have my dress (most important), ceremony date and time booked and payed (second most important) and a colour scheme but now i'm going round in circles it seems! Help!

Hi Abby we've got the same wedding date! Double bank hols - wahoo! People were telling me to book as much as poss as not only is June a popular wedding month then bank hols are really popular for weddings too - so look at things like photographer, video, some florists were telling me to get bookings in up to 12 months before but I've found another who I'm seeing in 2 weeks as she seems less pushy :) - I've also booked my hair/makeup lady, wedding cars and guest transportation and we want to get our caterer finalised before Christmas - when you shop around for florists especially don't forget to tell them the 3rd is on a Sunday, as not everyone I spoke to were willing to work that day of the week!

I'm making marmalade coz H2B hates Jam with a passion.... wierd thing to hate I no lol...... and he's a scotsman. Just got to wait for the Seville orange season and then let the preserving begin lol it's working out about £1 per jar including decoration which was my budget so I'm pleased.

Thinking of having a brooch bouquet, is anyone else doing this??? I'm way under on budget on my dress so I thought this would be a nice addition as my dress is quite plain xxxx

Yeah we've pretty got everything sorted except my accessories, flower girl dresses and somewhere to stay on the wedding night! Got tastings this weekend so we can decide which of 2 caterers to go for, and am trying on my dress again tomorrow so I can get an idea of what type of veil/tiara/jewellery I want to get! We're trying to get sorted this side of Christmas too so next year we can just sit back and look forward to the big day!

i wanted mine 16th june but it was already gone at my venue so we are getting married 23rd June lol xxx

Noticed a lot of June 16th's on this thread - my wedding date too! Yay!

Quite a lot sorted (which, has shocked a lot of my friends, as I'm the 'disorganised' one) - cupcake tasting in 2 weeks, in Harrogate! Bridesmaid shopping in November, need to sort florist soon, but not a massive flower fan, so don't no where to start, this is where mother comes in! Then, I'm pretty much on track, just niggly bits, decorations & accessories to sort and job's a guddun!

Once Christmas is done....I think time will just fly for us all!! :-D x

Sounds good to me, bridalmiss, I am completely clueless, which is why I've left the florist till last! One of my bridesmaids has a friend who is a florist, so I shall be paying her a visit and name dropping :-D x

22nd for me its a friday as we have loads of family travling we get the whole weekend with them too I wanted the 28th as thats our 6 year anny but 22nd it is :) x

Saw the second draft of my invites last week, think we're nearly there! Hopefully going to get them finalised by early Nov so we can get the printed ones in December ready for delivery Christmas week - thank goodness my brother is helping with the invites and so far is working to my timing deadlines!! :-)

Ours is on my auntie's bday so we're going to give her a gift on the day during the speeches - I had to email her to ask her permission when I saw the date was available but she was fine with it! :-)

Wow cornishpixie you're so organised! I'm trying to figure out when to fit my hen night in and our honeymoon, we have 4 other weddings to go to next year and i'll be going to at least 3 of the hen dos!

cornishpixie thats the same as me - my honeymoon departure to Mauritius is June 27th for 2 weeks (get married on 23rd)

I'm hoping to have a holiday with my mum in May instead of a hen weekend as my mum has never been abroad so I wanna have some girly bonding time and treat her to some relaxation xxx
