CommentAuthorgemmam99
Hiya - I'm in Aston too (one of the ones Rosei is talking about) and I'm going to the fair on Sunday too! It's in the main shopping centre but H2B won't go so I'm popping in quickly - might see you there x
CommentAuthorWinterrose
It's in Friars Square. I'm going with my mate who got engaged two weeks ago lol! Not sure what time we'll be there.
Latimer House is gorgeous! Having my hair trial on the 12th but might pop in on my way home :)

ive twisted h2b arm he's taking me hehehe where are having yours? venue wise
CommentAuthorWinterrose
Woburn :) can't wait! Where r u thinking of? There are so many lovely places around here... x
CommentAuthorLlosa
i know, woburn ohhh i love it round that area!!! we are thinking pendley manor, latimer house, hunton park house (Watford) orrr hatfield house...but we are still very partial to the first 2 hehehe we just need to decide so that we can pay it off as we go
CommentAuthorWinterrose
Pendley Manor is gorgeous and would've been very high up on our list but h2b's bro got married there so we had to scrap it lol! I love Latimer too & Hatfield is lovely. Not heard of Hunton Park. Did you know you can get married at Knebworth too!! So many choices you can even have your reception at Bucks Railway Centre with all the old steam trains x
CommentAuthorLlosa
OMG you can get married at knebworth!!! thats an amazing building! haha somehow dont know if we could stretch budget that far hehehe
CommentAuthorgemmam99
Hunton Park was my number 2 choice - speak to Rachel who is really nice (Latimer was too expensive for me but gorgeous and Caroline the wedding coordinator is lovely!). I'm getting married at Horwood House. Others we looked at were Sopwell House, Uplands, Missenden Abbey. Notley Tythe Barne is also very beautiful but H2B wanted somewhere with rooms so we didn't go for that one. If you are looking at churches we stumbled across Drayton Beachamp at the weekend and it's soo cute! I'm on my way back from my engagement shoot in bournemouth on the 12th so might pursuade James to pop in for a bit to look round the fair.
CommentAuthorLlosa
Drayton beachamp is sooo cute! i know what you mean about latimer house being pricey...we also looked at shendish manor and places in hemel but didnt see any where we really liked....hehehe if we win the lottery we are getting married at Ashridge! have you seen that place hahaha
CommentAuthorWinterrose
Oh my days I cannot believe the price of that place! There extortion &then there's that! £200pp I don't think I could justify that even if I was a millionaire lol. It is beautiful though and when I do make my millions I would love one of the houses on the main road! ;)
I love the church in the centre of Tring it's amazing! x
CommentAuthorLlosa
it is beautiful, but i think we are going to aldbury church.
We even thought about going up to alton to get married, there is a castle that you can rent for the weekend for £3000 fri-sun and you get the whole grounds and church on site hehehe but you have to do it all your self.
CommentAuthorWinterrose
Oh wow that's so cheap! How amazing!!! :) What are your connections with Aldbury? x
CommentAuthorLlosa
i used to live there when i was a baby, i have family dotted around tring and aldbury. h2b likes that church too, but i have no idea what we have to do or say to the churches (we're not religious) but i guess we'll cross that hurdle closer to the time hehe
CommentAuthorWinterrose
Some of the churches are stricter than others. My friend is marrying a guy who's been married previously, neither of them are religious yet their parish church is more than happy to marry them so don't worry just go & have a chat with them and see what they say :)
CommentAuthorLlosa
are you having a church do or registry?
CommentAuthorWinterrose
We are having the whole thing at The Sculpture Gallery absolutely love it there I'm soooo excited :) x
CommentAuthorLlosa
OMG thats sooo cool, amazing place! have you got most things sorted?
CommentAuthorWinterrose
I think so now although a lot has only been done in the past two weeks lol! We still need to get the rings & pay the registrar & then it's just the little things that make it "our" wedding. All the big stuff is done though which is good so we aren't stressing anymore. In the process of making my invites hopefully they will be going out at the end of next week & then I guess we just need to sit back and wait 2 c who's coming!! x
CommentAuthorLlosa
hehe well done, how long did you have to plan? We said we would wait until i had finished uni till we get married, so i have just under 3 years to go, but my grandma gave me advice on planning and she told me you have the perfect amount of time so that you arent rushing and panicking 2 months before haha
CommentAuthorWinterrose
We got engaged in February but I'm one of those people to thrive under pressure so I went dress shopping & got the venue sorted but we literally didn't really organise anything else until last week when we paid for the suits, cake & entertainment lol! It's weird though cos I'm so used to organising events & parties it feels just like another one I keep forgetting this is my ACTUAL wedding really don't know when it is going to sink in.
3 years is plenty of time and at least you have a reason with Uni it makes sense not to have too much going on in one go. Just get bits as you go along & then as you say you won't have the mad panic at the last minute (unlike me hee hee) x
CommentAuthorLlosa
Aww, wish i could handle pressure, lucky thing hehe. i think when it gets really close it will sink in :).
the thing about uni is that i only have 2 years left, but h2b told me he wanted me to do my 4th year so i could gain experience so when i left i would get a decent job haha....also its good as we can save up a bit more dosh.
CommentAuthorWinterrose
