Hi all, I have just joined this website having come across the official Cyprus thread on google. I am getting married on the 19th June 2013 at the Nissi Bay Hotel in Ayia Napa. I booked directly with the hotel after Thomas Cook decided to mess me around and now I don't know whether I have done the right thing. The wedding planner from the hotel (Marios) has emailed me to sort out the initial basics however he has not been much help since. I have booked our flights and accommodation now and feel like it is working out to be much more expensive booking this way than going through a tour operator! I really would like some advice as to what I should do next. The wedding planner said that everything can be sorted out once I arrive, however I feel like I'm just signing an open check to him by leaving everything until I arrive! I am by no means a control freak, however despite asking for a brochure or details of wedding extras, he has only given me a basic price list. E.g. one tier sponge cake is 65 euros, seasonal posy 65 euros, etc. On the charges sheet it just says a selection of wedding favours, gifts, table decorations & favours available. I have no idea what these are nor what they will cost - although I have asked the wedding planner a couple of times for this information. I've read on tripadvisor that he is a great wedding planner and to leave everything to him however I would like to be able to make informed choices about how my money is going to be spent! Although I am lucky that I have quite a bit saved up for the wedding, I have also just had a little boy so would like to get the most out of my money so that I can save as much as I can for him. If anyone has been there and married at Nissi Bay or is organising their own wedding there, please can you get in touch with me? I would be forever grateful because I am at a loss now! Many thanks, Courtney

Im not getting married there hun but I am getting married abroad so far our wedding planner has only took our flight details etc but not actual details of our wedding except where we want it and what date and time, we have also been advised the rest will be sorted on arrival as our wedding is 4 days after we arrive in mexico. it may or may not be the same kind of set up for your wedding hun but I would just send an email stating you are starting to worry about your wedding and the lack of information and understand he is probably incredibly busy but to either email him yourself or have one of his team email you with the relevant information you have requested x
31st August 2013 I became Mrs Carrick
Cant wait to do it all over again in 2018
