As the title says does anyone know of any dress makers in the area that don't charge the earth? I need an evening dress (long and simple style) for the MOH and something to match for my 10 year old. I seriously can't afford to spend any more money on the wedding as we are already reaching our limits and I just can't afford to pay a bridal shop £200 each! If anyone can help then please let me know. x x x

Thank you! If you wouldn't mind that would be great. My budget is soon sinking again just when I thought I had clawed it back so anything I can save now would be a god send. x x x

I'll post some pics up in my folders of the kind of things I'm looking at to give you an idea. My MOH has had a baby so would ideally like to have a chiffon or organza overlay over the top as its more forgiving than the satin dresses. I then need one for a 10 year old but without the low cut top.

I went in the bridal shops but all their golds in organza and chiffon are yellow not gold but I've seen organza in gold before so I know you can get it. They also want £200 for the dress and then £50 fittings. Yikes!

You are a superstar. Even if its out of budget or she says no I appreciate you asking for me. x x

Well she's doing mine, so I know she can do it :) As long as she knows the materials you want, she can go to wholesalers and get the right fabrics for pennies. Then all she would need is the sizes and away you go :) Don't worry hun.

    £50 for fittings??? jokes!!

Tis ok, gosh you help everyone :)))) Tis nice to help you out :))) <3 Xx

What have you decided to have and how many have you got? If mine were all adults it wouldn't be so bad but I can't get matching from the high street and the 10 year old wants to look like the grown up not the flower girl.

I know its crazy that you have to pay that much for a dress that doesn't always fit and then have to pay again to make it fit.

Awww hun you are a star. I take it you are now addicted to the site too. Are you still managing to get your uni work done?

Uni work??? hmmmmm :P Yea I am getting it done, tis a bit hard at times as it's a level 2 course and I think I should've done another level 1 first, but i'm doing ok :)

Oh yes definitely an addict!! thanks to you :P <3 :))) hehe

I've got 3 adults, a 12 year old that will be having a BM dress just not strapless, like a bardot (I know how it looks in my head lol) style dress. My daughter a flowergirl & friends daughter a flowergirl.

The Bridemaids are in taffeta dusky pink just over knee strapless dress with black satin big bow wrapped around middle under bust ish. Zip up back with mock buttons. Netting underneath dresses.

Could do what i'm having just slightly alter the younger girls dress with whatever straps/cap sleeve etc would be preferred. Xx

Ooo they sound lovely. Just been busy trying to find a jacket I saw in the bridal shop. Found one like it at £1650! I thought the £120 was bad enough. lol. Will post some pics up in a mo.

I'm not finding the step up to level 2 that bad but I'm finding I took on too many courses at once. Doing four at the moment and it doesn't bode well when I'm on Uk bride. To be fair though my concentration isn't there at the moment either and I just get so frustrated with it.

Its in like a rose design. Been looking all over for it but can't find anything like it. Its from Ellis bridals but can't see any jackets or shrugs on their site.
