I think you can get carpet shampoos that come as powder which you mix with water and then hoover up. Hope the ants bugger off! x

You can get these little disc things that lure the ants in, and they pick up poison while they are in there and it takes it back and kills the nest. A bit sad, but needs must...

a really good thing to use for keeping bugs away from your home is citronella oil, you can mix it with water and spray round your doors/windows to stop all bugs coming through, INCLUDING SPIDERS!!! they dont like it at all and will stay away, a few drops on the carpets where the ants have been should do it. its safe to use around children and pets too. xx

the little circle thing works amazingly! one of my friends just bought one from morrissons for about £2, remember though if your hoovering them up you need to put some porwer down first so they dont just crawl out your hoover x

I haven't had ants for ages - just seeing them in the house makes me itch especially on work/food surfaces.

I'm not saying your dirty or anything but have a massive spring clean ensure to clean up all the crumbs and left over food straight away which will help and kill the bug.gers.

that will kill the ones that go in it, but wont kill the nest. - you may need to get something to focus on the nest too.

We get infested with them every bloody year. I found that ant bait is more effective cos if they are in your house they are probably living in the cavities.... powders etc will only drive them back into the cavities and they will find another way out. If you ise the bait they take it back to the nest and you kill em all!!!

I used the baits in my kitchen last year when I had millions of them dancing all over the work tops trying to get into my sugar container!!! I haven't had one this year so it deffo kills every ant in the nest. if you want to kill them before you hoover, fly spray kills them quite well lol
