we have been talking about post poning today that or settling for something cheaper, being realistic about the price has shocked us both. its a nightmare :( x x

Ohhh well, I'd definately want that sorting before getting married so you're doing the right thing! You need to be going home to your own new place, it'll be worth every extra day you have to wait to get married :) x

Aww that's a shame but on the plus side you get longer to plan and longer to save :) the day will come and will be more special then as you can have exactly what you want rather than scrimping. Plus you get your house together :) we are getting a new house together after the wedding so I really feels like ours. At the mo the house is mine and he doesn't really like that! X

I changed mine twice due to stress, family problems and then just realising that I cannot have everything at once and have to prioritise, so we are saving for the house first which we should have by the end of the year :D then the wedding!!

I'm still very much enjoying choosing colour schemes, and other ideas for the wedding its just that it will be in 2015 so will have lots of time to decide everything.

Just don't be disheartened and know that when you do have the perfect wedding day you will also get to go back to your home as Mr and Mrs too.

Mine has to be no later than 2015 as I want to get married on what would be my mums birthday so for it to fall on decent day it has to be than as there is no way im waiting for it to come round again lol x

Just wondering ladies-i hope you dont mind my asking but when you have changed the date have you already had things booked? as dont know if its a location thing or what but our venue told us if we cancel to another date we lose the deposit for this date and need another deposit for the other date it cannot be transferred so we couldnt afford to change the date. im just wondering if that was the same with you ladies?

Aw honey you will get there. we been together 9 years and we decided on a house first instead of a wedding and I'm glad we did, yes a wedding/marriage is what we want but actually buying that house is your future and an investment so money better spent really. Keep positive and just means extra time for planning xxxx

Mrs Ross, all the venues I looked at it was at the managers discretion, we did specifically ask as I had study dates for my tax exams but they hadnt been released. So we might have had to change.

The usual response that they would be likely to allow a transfer of the deposit if there was more than six months before the original date, and less likely if it was under six months as there would be less chance of reselling the date.

Also, at a lot of venues if you cancel or change the date three months or less before the wedding, they have you pay a percentage of the overall cost.
