Well the sleep training with our little girl is going really well! It's been just over 2 weeks since I stoppped breastfeeding her to sleep in the evening so we thought it was time for the next step - getting her to go to sleep in her cot. She's just gone to sleep in her cot for the first time!!! No fuss! It's still right next to our bed with the side down and I had to lean in for a cuddle, but still a huge step bearing in mind she has never gone in her cot before (she's now 18 months old)! I'm really pleased we've decided to it in little steps as she's taken to it so well and there's not been any upset along the way! I know it doesn't sound like much, but it really feels like we're acheiving something! x

Thank you ladies :) she's the best Maria! She's always been very difficult when it comes to sleep, but me & H2B decided from the start that controlled crying wasn't right for us. I know it's taking longer to do it in more, smaller steps, but it's a lot less heartbreaking - we've never had to upset her (or ourselves lol) yet! You never know, me & H2B may actually get an evening to ourselves one of these days! x
AAwwww well done to ur little lady and well done you!!! I know first hand how hard it is to change habbits with little ones, my little girl was still waking for bottles at 18 months but with alot of hard work she now only wakes for a quick drink of water now and then and she will be 2 at the end of the month :)

That's great mrsdadson! It's a shame they don't come with a manual! We started the sleep training when she was 15 months old, as she was still waking up to 6 times a night for a feed, which was wearing me out - she'd just use me as a dummy for up to an hour at a time and I was desperate for sleep!

Thanks Maria, it's a good thing me and H2B have the same principles!

She clearly approves, otherwise she would have let you know she wasnt happy x
CommentAuthorKayteeG
She's definitely not scared to let us know if she's not happy about something! x

Well done Katie, sounds like your hardwork and perseverance is paying off! Seems like you beautiful little girl is in agreement too which is lovely.
MariaLouise, sorry to hear it didn't work for you though, hope you manage to get more sleep soon.
I personally don't have kids yet but we hope to start trying after the wedding so I am preparing myself now for lack of sleep (lol!)
Good luck for continued success Katie xx

Oh no Maria, there's nothing worse than sleep deprivation! Vicky, whatever happens and however hard it gets, it is worth every single second! My wonderful little Alexia is the most precious gift I could ever have wished for her - I'd do anything for her! She's in her cot again tonight which is great, although I'm hoping she is more settled tonight than last night - we had to bring her back into bed with us at 11.30pm as she kept waking (hoping it was a coincidence!) Thanks everyone for the good luck and support! x

Oh bless her - it's so horrible when they have nightmares - Lexie suffers with night terrors sometimes :( She ended up in our bed again last night, but I think when I put the monitor on, the ticking disturbs her, so I'm going to try it with the tic off tonight. Hope your little girl sleeps better tonight x
