I have been looking at honeymoons for weeks and weeks and I think we have finally decided on Antigua. I have never been anywhere like this before and I was wanting some honest opinions. I love the sun, but h2b is not as keen and would like to know there are activities we will both enjoy. I really want to go for 14 days but due to cost it will probably just be 10 days.
I also can't decide on which hotel. They all seem pretty similar with lots of good reviews and obviously some bad ones too.
Just wanted peoples opinions/advice if they have been or if you are booked to go and if one part of the island is better to another.

H2B and I considered the Carribean islands but I too was unsure about activities as we're both no ones for lying on a beach for 2 weeks solid (4-5 days max and then we'd b climbing the walls), we like some water sports and some culture to soak up an to see sights. So, instead we decided on Maui island, Hawaii (not booked yet but reading things online we decided that had bit of everything including a beach).
I'm not sure what your budget is, have you considered the far east? This will have the beach, activities and culture plus it's cheap for what you get (ok, cheap is a bad word, good value) and once you get out there you don't tend to spend much as food is cheap! There is a travel agent I use all the time for Malaysia and the far east and they also do the Carribbean and Hawaii. They are so good, fab service and really competitive prices. If you want the details let me know and I'll post on your wall hun xxx

Depending where you go there can be watersports, seeing orangutans, a lot of resorts will do things like cooking classes, a lot of the beach resorts have in house spas too. The travel agent I always use for the far east can tailor make a package for you to do a mixture of beach resort and travelling to see the actual country like going to turtle island and see wild turtles coming to lay their eggs, travelling down the river and seeing wild orangutans, crocodiles and elephants to name just a few. You can get taken to temples if you wish. x

Lol - it was one of those holidays of a lifetime. H2B and I did it just before my cousins wedding out there, had the lovely holiday then went to stay with the locals to be her BM, was an experience and a half for H2B lol.
Dec/Jan is a good time to go out there as it's guaranteed sun and warmth ;)
xx

I think ive found a hotel but im sure i will have changed my mind by tomorrow. Our budget is 3k and then we will be asking our guests (politely!) for money if they wish to give us a gift which we will use for spending so that will limit how much we can and cannot do. Just spoke to h2b and he says he will find something to do. I think I'm just worrying too much.

in my first marriage i went to Antigua on honeymoon we stayed at galley bay which was amazing really nice food, helpful staff, and no kids a big plus and the cocktails are good too lol. there were loads to do we even saw a sea turtle when snorkeling off the beach, there were tons of trips you can go on, and markets were fun.
