CommentAuthorEcoFreak
I'm from Winchester! :) Well, Littleton, just outside Winchester heading towards Sparsholt.. Chilworth Manor is lovely - but it's had some bad reviews lately? :( I looked at Marwell's borchure - just cos I think doing the "penguin experience" would make hilarious wedding pics :) xx
CommentAuthordizzydora4
I live in fareham. I agree about chilworth manor, think they have let theirt standards drop lately. We have chosen Lyndhurst in the New Forest instead. x
CommentAuthorkatie
o has it? wot kind of bad reveiws and were can i find them so i can show my h2b coz he relly likes that place!!! wots the penguin experience???
CommentAuthorEcoFreak
I'll try and find them for you - it was probably on that site which acts as your "advisor" you on your "trip" (not sure if I can say the name). I'll put a link on your wall when I find them again :) What kind of venues do you like? Stately home / hotel / barn? :) xx
CommentAuthorRachie :D
The Hilton in Southampton is fab too but the garden isnt the best. There's loads of fab places in the New Forest including Burley Manor and Forest PArk :)

CommentAuthorRachie :D
Be careful and read companies T's & C's carefully - there is also a manor house in Botley that is owned by a family they rent out a marque in their orchard and its up to you to supply catering etc xxx

I'd love to get married in Burley!! Instead we are opting for the registry office and reception in a village hall lol
CommentAuthorkatie
registry office in southampton? xx
CommentAuthorAbbi
Yep, that one. Did consider getting married in the same place as the reception but it costs a fortune to get two registrar's out on a Saturday!
CommentAuthorkatie
how much does the registry office cost hun? xx
CommentAuthor[SFc] Blaze
I got married last year at Southampton Registry Office and had our reception in Victoria Country Park. Just check that football isn't at home and how many cruise liners are in on the day if you plan to marry there.
CommentAuthorkatie
ok thanx hun xx
CommentAuthorNatalie
Hey Katie, I'm from Whitchurch! Have you looked at Esseborne Manor, thats where I'm getting married and they do quite a good package deal.
CommentAuthorkatie
hiya hun wot sort have package have u got with them then i looks lovely there but on a bit of a tight budget lol xx
CommentAuthorNatalie
For 50 people - *Ceremony *3 couse meal with 1/2 bottle wine per person *champagne for toasts *bucks fizz or champagne for after the ceremony *evening buffet *photographer *brides make up *2 tier cake *flowers or ballons for centre pieces *bridal suite overnight & breakfast *DJ
All for £4995 thats for in November. I think April or May to October is £1000 more. We're having more people in the day and evening so are paying extra for that.
Its great for us as it covers most things but may still be a bit much if you're on a tight budget.
CommentAuthorkatie
thats sounds like a bargain i dnt wanna do sit down meal tho and have to have more ppl as quite big fam when u gettin married? xx
CommentAuthorNatalie
Oh right, i guess they only do the package with the sit down meal, i don't know though. It may be too small if you having lots of family as capacity is only 120 max unless you have a marquee but that adds about £3000 for only an extra 30 people!! We're getting married November 12th this year! X

Hi katie. We live just south of petersfield but up until a month ago just outside southhampton. There are alot of different venues. And so many different price ranges as well. Although we are now marrying in Hayling Island but only because we were offered a good deal. We found quite a few places like country pubs that offered really good packages for things like hog roasts or bbqs and a lot of them owned their own marquee that could set up if the weather not looking good. Its worth asking even in places you wouldnt expect to do a wedding we were pleasantly surprised at what some offered.

hey natalie thanx hun i spose i jus have to ask them i dnt want 120 there lol thinkin between 80-100 not worked that out yet lol aww not long then i only asked as yours dnt come up like evry1 elses lol hey charlottelee wot sort of deal did u get then? coz u gettin married in may aint u? which is when i wanna get married i looked at hayling island but h2b dnt recon ppl wil travel that far out but i think thats there lose not mine lol xx
CommentAuthorcharlottelee
ours worked out all in including dj for £35 a head thats sit down meal and evening buffet as well as equivalent of 4 drinks per person. Then £9 a child. They normally charge £55 a head just for a basic package. Most of our family and friends arent local so having to travel anyway but at the end of the day it is your day and you shouldnt have to worry about peoples travel arrangments. Most of our guests are staying in the hotel and we get married their to so no travel issues once people are actually there. Its your day not everyone elses. We have about 100 people including children.

yes thats my attitude too i think h2b is goin to have to come round to the idea lol xx

For the Golden Jubilee room of the reg office its £175, that fits 50 people but they do allow people to stand at the back. You also need to pay £25 to reserve your date and then £33.50 each to give notice of marriage. Even though we are having our reception in a village hall its still very expensive, over £1000 on food (we've hired an outside caterer). If I knew then what I know now I'd have done a package at a hotel/manor house or whatever because in total we've spent about 7k
CommentAuthorkatie
i no weddings r sooo expensive aint they so between 200 and 300 at registry office mite look into doin that 2 be honest thanx hun xx
