OK Graham decided he wanted pure white waistcoats and they look lovely i have blinged up the backs a little with the role of the person wearing them. the problem comes from the 'best man' because the cravats are also white i thought (and graham agreed) he should wear a cravat to match my dress as well as having a double button hole with both a red and white rose. Everyone else will have a single rose. well the best man thinks ths is wrong and HE should have the same as the groom. I know its our wedding and we should do what we want AND WE WILL new cravat is already ordered. but im just wondering if im wrong and he is right. is there a set way 'traditional' way things are done.

the groom is traditionally supposed to have something different to the rest of the groomsmen i know that much. my h2b has the same waistcoat and cravat, he is just having 2 buttonholes instead x

I am doing the same hun....H2B is going to have a cravat a diff colour to his best man and the ushers. But we will prob let the best man had a double buttonhole like H2B as he will stand out with the diff colour cravat. But you def should have what you and H2B want and no one else. Its your big day do what you both like hun xxx

Sonia tell him to be nice. First off its your wedding and you know the rule. Two put him in what ever you want. Our bestman hate what he are putting him in but i have told him to wear it. Three he cant match the groom everyone will get very confussed as to who you are marrying. Specialy me as it dont take alot to make me confussed

Definitely the groom that's different 'so he stands out'. We're going to have the best men the same, different coloured cravat for H2B and our son with be wearing the same as him - he'll only be 3 then so there will be no confusion over who the groom is lol x

I personally think the groom should stand out a bit - My H2B originally wanted the same as everyone else, but I convinced him that as it was his special day (as much as mine!) he should be slightly different. At the end of the day, I say go with whatever you guys want - its your day x

Rich is wearing a purple cravat and orange button hole - the other blokes have it the other way round. I wouldn't let the bm tell me and Rich what to do - as far as we're concerned they'll have had or will be having their wedding and can do what they want then.
Plus I bet it will look well smart the way you want it xxx

My h2b is having a different color of waistcoat and a different button hole to the BM. Loads of people have said that he should be different from the BM and ushers so he stands out. You wouldn't dream of having the MOH and bridesmaids in the same as you, would you so why should the groom and groomsmen all be the same?

my h2b has a completely different outfit to the other groomsmen, who are all wearing their own black suits (we can't afford to provide them so as long as it's a plain black suit we'll provide shirts and ties and hats). Anyway - that's how he wants it and so that's how it'll be!
