OK I've got the paper (to make the invites) for my wedding which I love but it is slightly the wrong colour. I wanted duck egg blue and this is more of a sage green but shines blue in certain lights. I'm having a hard time to get a colour match to the paper for ribbons and other paper to match it. I've found a company in hull that print to any colour. Would you say I'm being OTT by going to such lengths to get the right colour. If I get this paper then it means that I can make a pattern on it using embossing powders etc to give it a pattern or use an embossing plate so I can have a strip of patterned and a plain underneath.

i think you should get the new paper if your budget can cover it as you wont be happy with it if its not exactly what you wanted, plus if its proving difficult to match then your maybe better off buying the new one.

Sorry im terrible for everything matching ! :)

I dont think your being a bridezilla either !

    xx

Oh no when I ordered the first paper it didn't say it was duck egg blue it just lists it as My Minds eye paisley blue. It does shine blue in some lights and green in other lights. I do like it lots but just can't get a match. I think to order some new paper in would be about £15 so its not like it costs loads of money just more time to sort out the pattern on it.

I would buy the new paper because its better to get exacly what you want radther than settling for the colour thats arrived because all you'll be thinking when you see the invitation is thats the wrong colour and i should have got the other paper xxx

I would say it depends on your budget. In all honesty people will see the invites completely separately to the rest of the wedding and it's colours. Yes people may bring their invites with them to the wedding, but have you ever dragged an invite out of your bag just so you can check it matches the rest of a wedding? So I think if money is tight - don't bother worrying about it too much. If money is okay and it'll drive you nuts knowing it doesn't quite match - then buy the new paper.

We've had a similar problem with our 'midnight blue'. It's between a navy and royal blue and it's a flipping nightmare to try and match the colours from different places. We've comprimised. In my bouquet of crystals and feathers, mum's doing dark blue and some light blue and from a distance the colour looks perfect. I couldn't get my MoH's dress in the exact colour, so we've gone for Royal Blue in her dress but will get a darker colour for my UK BM. It won't matter as they will never be together (MoH is doing the Vegas wedding and BM is doing the London reception).

If you are not completely happy get new paper! Especially if you are using any of the paper at the reception. For me you have put too much effort in already to see your invitations as a compromise. You can always sell the old paper on and re coup that way.

Well most of the old paper is now cut up ready for the invites so I don't think I could sell it lol. I can use it for scrap booking though so it wouldn't be wasted. Just waiting for some samples and then I will make up my mind. Might treat myself to an embossing machine too.
