I really like the idea of a sweetie buffet but it seems that everybody is doing it these days, just wondered if anybody has any ideas of something a little different? I want something which is fun, has a bit of a wow factor and people will be talking about the next day. My friend had an ice cream van which was great but I don't want to pinch her ideas.
Any suggestions?

Mash potato bar, marshmallow toastin bar, Ice cream van.... Were having a sweet table... One of my besties had a sweet table and my other had a choc fountain so unless you really go out there to find something thts not already been done, let us know! Lol

We are going to have a cake buffet. Lots of cupcakes, cake pops and other delicious treats!!! My uncle owns a bakery chain in the lake district so is donating some and one of my aunties makes gorgeous cupcakes xx

Thanks people. I've been doing a bit of thinking and I want our wedding to have an element of 'childhood memories' theme so I'm thinking it would be great to have an ice cream van for when our evening guests arrive (which will be most of the guests as we're only having immediate family for the wedding breakfast). So I want an ice cream van (going to ask the guy who was my local ice cream man when I was a kid and a lot of the guests will know him too) offering ice creams with popping candy maybe mix up bags too. And then a cake/treat buffet with lots of old skool classics so things like fondant fancies, pink wafers, teacakes, battenberg, maybe little pots of candy floss and popcorn. I might have the sweet mix-up bags on this table instead of with the ice cream van.
I'm not sure whether it's really necessary to have an ice cream van as well as the cake table. Thoughts?

i think its a great idea. if we can afford it then we will be having an ice cream trike during reception drinks so everyone can have an ice cream - we are getting married end of march so if it rains they can bring the ice cream trike in doors. if you get an ice cream truck what will you do if it rains? not sure when you are getting married but its something to think about.
our ice cream trike will be at 2.00pm with reception drinks and then sweet buffet will be in the evening xx

We're having a 5 tier chocolate fountain, a huge fruit palm tree and a 9 tier stand of cupcakes :-)

We are havingvans ice cream man, and now wer are having a doughnut table. Qith all different doughnuts. Ummm. Smores not allowed buy venue which i can understand.

I'm loving these alternatives my wedding is in feb and I've ordered a table top sweet cart so only a little one and was starting to think it's been done to death. So will deffo change the sweets probably to different cakes.... Thank for the tips ladies x
