Ok so Heres my problem I have hayfever so flowers aren't really my thing I know you can get fake ones but I'm just wondering if anyone has any ideas that are maybe unusual and different? My colours are lilac and White and I'm having lilac butterflies popping up throughout so that's my theme I surpose. I'm just stuck on what me and my maids should carry. Please help I'm willing to make things myself (ok my maid of honor is lol) do it doesn't have to be something you have seen in shops etc

You can get really nice artifical bouquets online and there very resonable. Also for centerpieces you could have something called sweet trees, looks like a mini flower decoration but full of chocs which could double up as favours.

my friend had a twisted set of about 12 twigs intertwining with a piece of ribbon tied round the bottom where she held it and then had coloured crystals woven round them in the colour scheme of the wedding x

Some people carry a bible but I would go for either crystals, feathers or butterflies. If you want to go well away from a bouquet then you could have a masquerade mask and walk down the aisle with that. They come in all sorts of colours so you could find one to match your theme.

Ooooo Minniemoocher the photos you have in your album are from my wedding venue Bosworth hall. The one in the red dress on the stairs is inside Bosworth hall and the church is the church in the grounds we are having the blessing at. :)

I'm having a crystal bouquet! Check out my pics on my profile for ideas. My mum is making mine and it's quite simple, but I know you can also buy them ready made, although they're much more expensive that way, obviously. x

Yeah I hope so. It just had everything we wanted there as the h2b wanted a church but we couldn't get married there and I wanted a country house. I love your dress and the colour is amazing. Where abouts are you getting married?

It looks v similar (from the outside) to ours - do you know where Meriden is - it's the Manor hotel there. Thanks for your comments about my dress :) I'm over the moon with it; it's beautiful (got it from Brides of Solihull), but I'm finding the reverse colour scheme hard to sort. Bmaids are in white (will post pics of their dresses soon) and I can't find a white bolero / shrug that goes with them - plenty in ivory! Are you going to the Ricoh wedding show in Cov next weekend?

I didn't know it was on but may well do now I know its on.

We thought about Meriden as its near to where the h2b's family live. Its very very pretty. There is a shop next to the Tesco's in Casstle Brom on Timberly lane that does shoe repairs and at the back of his shop is a seamstress that does bespoke dresses and alterations. He may well be able to source you some matching fabric if you give him a sample and make some to match for you. He has loads of designs you can choose from too.

ah that's a good idea - I may get back to you on that. Was hoping to keep costs down and find a shop brought one (have 6 bmaids and they have tons of stuff already) but I may have to go to a seamstress. If you register on the UK wedding show site brides get a free ticket x

I'm actually amazed with the mask idea I LOVE it thank you I think I'll look in to it very different too. My sisters always wanted to wear one. I'm having 2 maid of honors, 2 teenage bridesmaid, and 1 or 2 tiny flowergirls. they Would look great I think, And if we kept it between the girls then guests/groom will have a shock too. Brilliant!!
my centerpieces are going to be glass fish bowls with lilac stones/gravel stuff and a pretty Goldwater fish swimming around (I love fish) then I'm giving them away to whoever wants them as gifts although I'm sure my 3 kids will claim at least 1 haha.

Glad you like it. I keep winding the h2b up saying I've got one. I saw loads of pretty ones on ebay when I had to go to a fancy dress party and needed one. It could be the next big thing though. If I wasn't having a veil then I would have done it but I don't want to go OTT

Ooh the mask idea sounds nice! I would have said just a nice detailed ivory clutch bag to match your dress. x
