    Hi Ladies,
I posted this on KWSSS page on fb but got no feedback on it whatsoever. So i though id ask here....
I was wondering if any of you were doing a garter/bouquet toss, or doing something different. I want to do something but wasnt sure what.

EDIT I have changed your thread catergory to Traditions as this is what it falls into and not just general wedding chat!
Please find a catergory for your posts as it makes it easier for other members to search the forum if they want to know something or ask a question and they cant do that if everything is just lumped into general wedding chat!
There is a catergory for pretty much every wedding related subject going so should be easy enough to find one that suits. If not then please contact a mod and they will make one for you :-)
    thank you

I went over budget on bouquet because I loved it so much lol and as its silk I get to keep it forever so theres NO WAY Im throwing it anywhere, besides it has a few broochs on so it might hurt lol.

Anyway what I plan to do is go to tesco the morning of the wedding and pick up a bunch of either red (my theme) or yellow (my fav) roses, de thorn them tie them and then tie them up with a ribbon into a big bunch!
Then during the reception I will take the ribbon off and throw them so that they fly everywhere so instead of ONE person catching them hopefully lots of people will catch them :-)

My bouquet is going to be vintage brooch and is costing a fair few quid so they've got 2 hopes of me throwing that for somebody else to keep. I've only got 2 single ladies coming to my wedding and one of them is seeing someone so unless I get some more singlies on the guest list then I won't be doing the bouquet toss at all, if I do decide to my cbm can kiss hers goodbye.

    I can't wait until 29/06/2013

I love the idea of throwing loads not tied together so many people can grab them.
I won't be throwing my actual bouquet as I am making it myself, so a lot of DIY will go into it, its also getting brooches and buttons on it, so don't want anyone to get hurt.

I'm not doing either. I'm also planning on having a silk bouquet I can keep so don't want to be hurling it around, and I'm wearing my mum's garter that she had for her wedding (something old & borrowed - and it's blue!) and she has said on no account am I to throw that or I won't live to tell the tale lol!

I don't really wanna throw mine as I want to keep it. Plus, at the wedding there will only be about a handful of single ladies as the majority are married with kids! My bestmate (BM) wants me to throw it though so she can catch it lol ...........gonna have to think of a way around it but think it'll look silly with only 4 or 5 girls waiting to catch it!

I love traditions like throwing the bouquet, not sure if there are many singles comin and think I would quite like to keep it, but will still probably do it.

I saw an article on this last night, they suggested getting lots of individual flowers, they don't have to be expensive, and attaching a little charm or wish to each flower. Then bunch them together and loosely wrap a ribbon around them. As you throw them, keep hold of one end of the ribbon so that the flowers disperse. This way every girl gets a little token flower.

BRILLIANT IDEAS x~Hails~x and OWB. Something extra to do with the charms but brilliant anyway! Oooooh how exciting! I am not throwing mine either as I have a brooch bouquet too. I have never seen a garter toss in the Uk before but I am going to do one. I made my own garter but will make a throw one too.

My H2B and I are very keen to make sure all of our guests know that our wedding is our START and not the END, so we are thinking about treating our reception like a launch party! So we are toying with the idea of getting some confetti cannons so that we can do a kind of 'blast off' like the start of a race. What do you think??

A few years ago my cousin got married and had her bouquet framed. To get around the bouquet toss she had a big balloon on the ceiling and the single ladies gathered under it. When it was popped a load of tickertape fell along with a silky / lacy type hanky. It was the equivalent of catching the bouquet.

I don't know what I will be doing yet but this has always stuck in my mind. xx

In the states were a bouquet toss is de riguer it is standard to get a second bouquet to toss. A lot of times these bouquets are the same as a bridesmaids. Make sure to wrap the bouquet together really tightly, I've seen loads disintegrate after the toss.
