We are having a civil ceremony at the hotel and I am wondering whether to buy an aisle runner as they don't have one. What do people think? Is this an extra expense we don't need ?

If, for you, that is the best use of the money- then go for it. Everyone has different priorities.

I have seen one of bay of e! Its about £17.50 for 21 metres - which will be more than what we need! I like the idea but it is paper so I guess it would need to be fastened down. I guess really I was looking for other ideas or thoughts about the potential hazard of having one!
I like the idea of the petals pinkalice.
Did think about the candles Steffie but was concerned about big dress + candles - although I suppose if the aisle is wide enough it would be ok. I think what I am really worried about is that the ceremony room is the first one people will see and we have made no plans for decorating it - only some flowers for the table. It is a beautiful room but I don't really want it to look just like a bunch of chairs with a table at the top!
    Am I being over anxious?????????????

I'm ressurecting this post from 2010 to see what you ladies think now ? I really want an aisle runner but I don't know if i should .. the carpet at the church is red and a bit worn, and for the 'winter' feel i would love the aisle to be white - has anyone had any experiance with them ? any help would be ace xx

My venue have a beautiful aisle runner, so I'm sorted but if it didn't have one, I wouldn't pay extra to have one and I would just petals/confetti and candles. I think you'd be best off just having white petals scattered Zoe x

My venue's entrace is really plain on i was looking at topiary tree's or some sory of flower display to go either side of the doors, matt wants a mini red carpet lol but we shall see on that one. Rose petals will be going down the sides of the isle inside the venue tho.

If you want one get one!
I don't think it's neccesary but that's just personal taste I'll rather make tissue paper pom poms in our wedding colours and have one hanging down on each chair at the edge of the aisle. Much more colourful that way!

I was looking at these. I can't help but think what would happen if your dress brought it along behind you? Lol. Or if it made a noise when you walked over it? Hmmmm xx
