this is supposed to be the happiest time of my life - not with my family ! mum says nan wont come shes homophobic - so and so wont come and my sister is just plain rude and selfish! think we should just sod off and get married alone lol

don't let two ignorant people ruin it. there will be far more people there than not. It will be them what's regretting it in the end.

however, the idea of sodding off and doing it alone does have its up sides lol... ive thought that so much recently, just because im all wedding planned out lol

lol i know what you mean, its just been one thing after the other since we announced to the family, my sister is golden child and can do no wrong, she doesnt like my partner, she is now making xmas difficult..families are a pain, its just who do we invite who dont we..it def dont seem like a bad idea at all at the minute lol :) im sure it will all sort out...most of mums side of family probably wont come, we keep thinking just have the small 4 people ceremony but then there are a few people that will 'feel left out' and then thats more stress :/ im just having a rant ignore me lol xx

Perhaps you should just remind them that you're marrying your best friend & you're both extremely happy together!
What more could anyone possibly wish for you?

Focus on the people who will come, not the people who won't! They're your true friends and family. :)

I hate when families start that crap. When i hav emy kids I couldn't care less if they love men women or dogs as long as they are nice people and are happy. Kids should be able to get the love and respect from their praents once they are grown uo that was expected of them as a child.

I wouldn't worry about everyone else just say that's fine I understand your feelings...they will likely change their minds whenthey dont receive an invite xx

I think you should come out and ask them directly if they're thinking of coming then, and if they say probably not or no, then you know where you stand numbers wise and just don't send them an invite x

You know what Hun ... Those people who truely love you ...love you because of who you are and don't give a ****** about your sexuality.

My view is it is more important to be loved and to have somebody to love rather than what the sex of the 2 people are .

    We all love you x

Well said Lala! You know what I think hun as we've talked about this before hun but you need to be happy and remember that although there will be those who don't approve but generally, people will be happy for you.... It may take a while but you will be pleasantly surprised I think. Give her some time to get her head round it and I'm sure she'll be ok. It took certain people in my family awhile but it's worth it in the end I promise!! Xxxxxx
