Hi all i had my daughter in october past so shes turned 6 months last week and h2b and me dont want a huge age gap till we have the next baby but how long have you waited till you had the next baby? We're thinking on trying in june/july time???

We thinking same thing lil miss, thinking of trying for another after the wedding, so lil miss will be 2 1/2 n around 3 when baby arrives. If we have a 3rd will make the gap nearer lol like around 18 months.

Thats what im worried about cos h2b and me had decided to wait till about june july time to start trying but im worried in case i cant get pregnant straight away. Im still breast feeding my daughter just now and so my oeriods havent come back to normal yet so who knows if i will sctually get pregnant straight away

you still can hon and they say it is quite easy to get pregnant while still brest feeding or before your oeriods come back. personally i think a 2 year gap is good cause atleast one is walking and potty trained and can do a few things for them selves go give you time to deal with a demanding new born

My son was Four in the August and my Daughter was born in the June before- so I've had near enough four year age gap- which I've found brilliant. Aiming for the same gap again next time as we'll be trying after the wedding's over so our daughter will be about 3-4 when the next one arrives. Only problem is I (We) want another after that and whilst the four year age gap is brilliant I'll be about 35-36 when baby number four is on the horizon and maybe I'll just be slightly too old ?!?

But yeah entirely personal choice I wanted big age gaps so that each child was off to school before sibling arrives so that they didn't feel like they were missing out on attention from me, which has worked brilliantly so far.

salamander. It is still possible (and not as hard to as you would think) to get pregnant while exclusively breastfeeding. About 6 weeks after you give birth is actually your most fertile time. People this oh ive just had a baby cant be ovulating already, but you do. Its mad.

salamander i was on the injection as well and it took ages for my periods to come back and then i think they were just starting to get back to normal and hey presto i was pregnant with my daughter but im worried that since i wasnt regualar before then it'll be hard to get pregnant. Ive started doing baby led weaning with her so she's really still getting all her milk from me but i had thought about giving her formula milk just so i could get my periods back to normal before we start trying for baby number 2 but i feel guilty for taking her milk away from her

I had my 4th at 35 Amy, its not too old, tho i think i had more energy when i had my first at 23. xx

Every one is different to how long they want to wait to have there next. By time my little boy was born my daughter was 3 1/2. I love this age gap. She was fully potty trained before I got pregnant again and was great cuz I then didn't have 2 in nappys. She's also very very helpfull. She like to help me change his bum and get him dressed.
Also, as she is a pre-school it's not always so mad here, which is also great as she's bonkers and her brother is folowing suit!!!

2 years seems to be a gap that works well
my brothers and I have really big gaps though and we managed

there is four and a half years between my 2 daughters. they play so nice together, my eldest is now 7 and my youngest is nearly 3. courtney loves being the big sister, she enjoys helping amber with learning colours and they are always making up dance moves together! they are so close, which is lovely! when ever the time feels right to have a baby thats the best time, i personaly dont think the age gap is a problem :)

There are 7 years between my oldest and the youngest two and 1 minute between them. Only went 7 years because I wasnt sure if i wanted anymore children with their father, as it happens when I did find out I was pregnant it was with twins, serves me right for waiting that long... : ) x

i dont have kids but my mum has 5 kids and there is an age difference between us. there is my brother, sis, me, sis, sis. there is 10 years between me and my brother and between oldest and youngest there is 14 years! to be honest i dont think it matters if there is an age gap as i get on with all my siblings esp my brother! there is 3 years between me and the youngest.

my h2b has 2 kids who are 11 and 13 and we are going to start trying next year so there will be a big age difference between them. it will be about 15 years difference! h2b has 3 sisters and there is a big age difference aswell. xx

Given the choice, I would aim for a four year gap. There was a two year gap between myself and my sister. I think it is hard to give enough attention to a baby and a toddler and it could be very stressful for the mother. But, yes, it all depends on you and what you can cope with!! My friend is coping with four children, aged 7, 3, 2 and 1. I am sure that would be too much for me!!!

The only trouble is we are not really able to take time off from work for very long - H2B's job alone will not sustain us for very long I fear.

We have 5 kids between us h2b's eldest Lewis is 17, then there is Marsellus 15, my eldest Emma is 8 then Kenzie is 6 and our daughter Isla just turned 1 last week. so they have quite a big age gap between them. But i have never known 5 kids get on so well. We are so lucky xx

my first was born in september 1999 had my second in may 2001. she was one when i got pregnant with our second, they was very close and lovin towards each other kept each occupied and loved it, then had another in january 2006 and mistake, i dont mean him i mean the age gap, i never wanted an age gap of more than 2 years, for the exact following reasons, he has been constantly bored even now been 5 and the other two been 10 and 11 he gets bored as the older two are into different things and he has no-one to play with, i wouldnt ever have another kid now, cause its been hard work big time, if i could turn bac time i would have had him when i said which was within a yr of havin bailey, but david didnt want to. then randomly said yrs later lets have another it took me quiet a while to give in as i didnt want to start again. by the time i had luke bailey had just started full time school. now i have to start all again lukes at full time and now im tryin to find a job, so i can get my life bac.x

theres 23 months between the oldest who are 16 and 14 then our next is 10 so 4 years then the next is 3 so there 7 years between them, thinking of having another one in a few years got to get my health better soon

karen i agree thats what mine were lke untill havin luke, it really ripped everything in half, i sometimes look at pics and cry at how close and friendly they was before havin him, i know its not his fault but it has put a strain on me and h2b and on kids :-( im hoping and prayin it gets better as tey get older but so far no luck. i just wish we could go bac to been the happy family we was :-( x

My h2b and me decided that we want to have another baby next year so starting trying in a couple of months but his friend has told him about a job from his company that he works for which is so much better money but teh problem is it offshoreand prob be 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off. Its just come to me that if he goes for this job then i will be having to cope with 2 little ones under 2. He has been thinking about it over the last few day and i know he's getting bored at work as he feels hes stuck doing the same thing all the time so he said he was going to apply and see what happens. I know i was getting very tired looking after our LO when she was 1st born and she would only go to sleep on me and i could only get dressed when he came home in the afternoon so if he gets this job then i'll be on my own!!! I like to think i'll be more prepared as with having gone through it already but you never know.

lol i love kids, have worked with disabled children and h2b has a son from previous relationship so spent alot of time with him too lol :) rays ex wont let him see his son now though cos of being in relationship, even though shes gone and gotten married. so he hasnt seen his son 2 yrs in nov, but when we saw him he was 2yrs old. x x

i have 4 children ...... 26,22,17 and almost 16 ...... there is 18mths between the 2 youngest

I have just under a year between mine.

1st was born on 9th october 2007 2nd on october 1st 2008

My mum spaced us all right our (23 (24 in 2 weeks), 21, 13 and 4!! Around 3 yrs is a good gap x

i dont have any kids yet but id like a 18 month ages gap between mine as thats what it is between me and my brother and we are really close and more like mates. x
