    Hi every one

I am hoping for some suggestions for a affordable all inclusive honeymoon.. a little background info of me and h2b is that we are currently living at home with his parents while saving for a house deposit and our wedding (I feel like we are crazy doing both) we will hopefully be moving out a month or two after the wedding.. however could be longer if we don't manage to save as much (i find sticking to a saving plan is hard as things always pop up like h2b car needed fixing etc) we don't have money in our wedding budget for a honeymoon but figured if we was to book soon for next september we could pay off some money every month.

We was happy not to have a abroad honeymoon and stay in this country (as it was less money) and go for a log cabin however there costing over 500 for a week so with other expenses like spending money petrol etc it will cost near on 1000 pounds, I just cant help but feel that for a little more we could go abroad, I do have my heart set on going abroad. Especially as we live at home with parents I don't really want to go straight back the night after the wedding.. would love to get away for a week with just us two.

I have seen some lovely 4 and 5 star hotels in turkey which are around 650-800pp which is about what we are looking to spend (1500 for 2 people all inclusive for one week) we know we are not going to get typical honeymoon destinations like mexico or Caribbean within budget which is fine. All we are wanting is a slightly luxurious hotel, all inclusive and hot weather.

if anyone has any suggestions that would be fab

    Thanks :) xx

    Hi gemma
You are brave staying with the in laws! Well done.
We had a week in Turkey last Sept all inclusive for £479 pp....in bodrum a place called royal asarlik beach and it was lovely. They had a wedding take place while we were there. Hot weather and lovely beach.
Or have you looked at Egypt? Or Tunisia? I've been there twice and its very nice, friendly, cheap. Hot!
Hope you get sorted. There are deals to be had xx

We has one week all inclusive in Tenerife last year, we stayed in the Barceló hotel and it was amazing! The food was great and everything you could ever want, the pools were beautiful and lovely to relax. We paid 500 pounds each for the week and it was a total bargain. Tenerife might not be the kind of place you're looking at but this hotel in particular was great

Best value places for all inclusive are Turkey, Egypt, and the Cape Verde islands. Morocco is also good value, esp Marrakech, and also Malta, and you might get a week in Cuba for the higher end of your budget (ie £800).

If you can, try to go mid-late September; the weather will still be hot in all the countries I've mentioned but the prices will be dramatically cheaper.

One thing I would say is to make sure you do your research, as I've found that all inclusives in places like Turkey can be hit and miss, and sometimes you can be better off going B&B as it's very cheap to eat out anyway (we went all inclusive in Gumbet once and ended up eating dinner out every night as the food was just terrible); so check out reviews and make sure you know what to expect. I tend to look for hotels that have got a bare minimum of 4/5 on Tr1p Advis0r, and ideally try to find ones with 4.5/5; usually, they're pretty decent.

    HTH!

We are taking a honeymoon straight after our wedding and we wanted to go somewhere more exotic but with the time of year it is rainy season etc so we decided to take a cheaper honeymoon in the August and a more exotic one the following year.

We went into a certain number choice, and told the lady how much we wanted to spend, what we were looking for nice beach etc and she spent 2 hours running through every option for us. She was amazing. We holiday every year in a 4* Benidorm hotel so ideally were looking at a non Spanish destination, however we ended up booking a 4* adult only all inclusive 10 day break to Alcudia. This worked out at just over £800 p/p but they then gave us a £100 honeymoon discount.

I really recommend going in and speaking to a company, getting a list of hotels and locations and then doing your own research into the hotels.

Hope you find somewhere nice. :)

We're going to Egypt - 2 weeks all inc is £1500 and we know the place is lovely because the in-laws go 4 or 5 times a year, H2B has been himself too. We are waiting until December though as it's still hot but not baking because H2B is a ginge lol. Hight of season though is about £2000 for 2 weeks so I would pressume 1 week would fit your budget? xx

I work at Thomson... Best thing to do is go in, be blunt with budget and explain you can go a little over if they can cheekily apply some discount...all shops have a little pot they can use in exceptional circumstances x

Wow Gemma I know your life story! I live with h2b at his parents house too! We are concentrating on the wedding for the minute, then straight into saving for a house after. We haven't got a budget for a honeymoon either so were not booking anything until after the wedding as we're asking for money instead of gifts. We get married in the Easter half term and h2b is adamant on two weeks so we are going (hopefully) for our money moon in the summer holidays and maybe just doing a few days away after as a minimoon. I like the idea of a little city break like Italy, Paris maybe on a group0n offer or last minute booking. Is that something you would do? Xx

rr thanks guys for your responses.

The inlaws are ok, we get on really well.. but just miss having our own space. It will all be worth it in the long run and I couldn't thank them enough for letting us live with them for next to nothing and save for our own house.

We just want to spend quality time together after the wedding which is why I am soo desperate to get away, I will happily go without a few things a month to save money towards a honeymoon.

I am really loving Turkey, Barbie86 I think going later in September may be the way forward unless we can get a good deal.

Would really love to go a couple of days after the wedding but I suppose if its a few weeks later its something to look forward to when the wedding is over.

*Kelbel* would you suggest just going into store and explaining the situation/budget or getting a quote from Thomson online and taking that into shop to see if they can get close/similar??

FranM76 is £1500 for both of you? if so then that's amazing,

    xx

    Update**

My mum has very generously offered to give us 1000 towards our honeymoon.. she did want to pay for the whole amount but we refused as she is already buying my dress so we came to the agreement of 1000 (although she was not happy) lol

Anyway now we have a bit more money we have our hearts set on egypt as we would love to snorkel and quad biking in the desert.. I think we would like to go to sharm el sheik. Does anyone have any suggestions? Hotels? Activities?

We are looking at 800 pp would push for 850ish if it was amazing.. and ticked all the boxes. . It is defently doable.. but just would like suggestions :)

    Thanks in advance xx

I jut booked turkey last night, marmaris, we haven't bothered with all inclusive (not that it was much more, its REALLY cheap, actually) because last time I went, we got it and only had the breakfast, we spent the rest of the time eating out, as the hotel food was abit naf tbh, but its so cheap over there anyway we were able to eat out somewhere different every night

we got a beach front hotel in a very good location for £789, I almost booked one that wasn't beach front that worked out at £600 on the nose, but decided I was being stingy lol

it included B&B, flights, upgraded transfers and insurance (and baggage...didn't know that didn't come as standard anymore?!)

    edit* That's for 7 nights

Typically when I'm trying to narrow it down I first look at price. Then I look at the average rating on hotel review websites, getting rid of anything that scores less than 4/5. Next, I look at the photos: do I like the decor? Do the pools look nice? Then I look at the facilities, esp when going all inc: how many restaurants and bars are there? What exactly is included in the all inc package (as packages vary MASSIVELY eg some might only include buffet meals; whereas others might offer a la carte options; similarly, some hotels might include international brands of alcohol as well as local ones, or room service, etc etc; basically, make sure you know what you're getting and if there are likely to be any hidden costs). Finally, I read the reviews in more detail to get a feel for the resort and what to expect.

This system hasn't failed me; since I've been doing this I've yet to be disappointed with a hotel.

H2b has gone off the idea of Egypt now, I think we have narrowed it down to sal island in the cape verde islands... has anyone been? There really isnt anything to do other than be in your resort hotel or a walk down the beach into the local town which for us is what we really want, total relaxation. The whole island is only 21 miles long and 7 miles wide. although I think we will only go for one week instead of ten days. Xx
