so now my inlaws have had their big holiday mil wants me to go and help her find her outfit on friday.
i dont know what to do. she cant take her daughter as shes disabled and will kick off but she has no sister only a load of brothers but has sils but she has asked me to go along and help her out.
tbh im honored she has asked me simply means we get to spend a proper day together just the two of us which weve never done in the 10 years me and h2b has been together so im actually throwing up in my mouth worrying over this. Ive seen my mums outfit and its beautiful. ive seen mil glammed up but for her sons wedding this is too big a deal.
what to i do? i dont want to agree on a outfit thats rank simply so my mum looks better but im no good at buying clothes. if im honest i get a load of stuff from my sister, she wears outfits once and gives them to me so a lot of my clothes are second hand and apart from my wedding dress and undies i dont pick a lot of clothes out.
if anyone can suggest something then ill be glad of the help. i dont want to make her look horrendious but i would like her to look lovely like my mum obv not in the same outfit.

why dont you just go!! enjoy your day.. help her pic a style Completly diffrent from your mums and be honest if you like or dislike her outfits that she picks... youll never know if youll enjoy it untill you go plus yous are family xx

And breathe!!! You are going with her to help her find something to wear, not to pick it for her, so stop panicing! I am sure she knows what suits her and she obviously wants to share this moment with you which is lovely! All you have to do is say what you think about how she looks in outfits she picks out, you are putting way more pressure on yourself than is needed. Go with her and give her your opinions on what she picks, as I am sure all she wants is a second opinion. It will be a lovely memory for you both so just go and enjoy your time with her :) xxx

Hi louait. I can understand why you're worrying over this bit try not to over think it. Just go, have a lovely day with fmil and do some female bonding, lol. If she picks out something horrendous then just say its lovely but you think you can find something even better, something that will flatter more etc. tbh I'm not a fan of shopping, I don't wear fashionable clothes and I don't really enjoy shopping for clothes but I've done it before with friends and just enjoyed their company. In sure it will be fine.let us know how you get on, good luck, cx.

yeah you are probably all right, im looking forward to going just the whole outfit thing, i actually have a idea in my head of what she could wear as shes has shown me some outfits on line so i have a rough idea i think the worry is coming from i like the outfit she likes it but people talk, and i do know that happens for a fact.
but yeah i think im taking this too seriously, ill just go have a fab day and wait to see what she picks out. maybe ill not be that bad at all lol xxx

so friday has passed and mil, myself and fil went to look at the outfits for mil for the wedding.
firstly we got lost but not due to me but due to fil not listening to directions and deciding to go his way we arrive at the first place, east kilbride same shop mum has got hers from (i thought this was a safe bet so i could compare outfits easier without her seeing them. the girl in the shop was not very helpful. she was left while the owner was away and had no clue about any of the outfits etc. good thing was i sorted my flowergirl out and shes going for a fitting next week!!!!
so we left and headed to west kilbride which is next door to where our venue is at seamill. the lady couldnt do enough for mil. after mil telling her what she wanted i was taken to the back of the shop and asked about the bridal party outfits, my dress, my mums outfit so she could get a idea of style and colour, she said she would show one outfit and see what i though we would signal to each other. so she picked out 3 dresses. first one was perfect, plain fitted style with a jacket stunning and good on her. second one made her look frumpy and older and the third i liked but mil didnt like straps etc so we went for the first outfit plus a lovely fascinator.
im so glad we got it sorted and all the worrying was for nothing. and i cant wait now to see them both in the outfits they have chosen, i think they will outshine me right enough ha ha ha.......

yeah we did all that worrying for nothing ha ha ha. she was brilliant, especially when it came to the top half of the dress. mil has a slight "offset" due to surgery and was worried that the one she picked wouldnt look right but the lady said she would alter it so it didnt show too much and everything would look even.
very true linzi-jo, the excuse of ffs im a bus driver i know this road just didnt work this time ha ha ha esp since he has been on local routs for the past 5 years and never done east kilbride....nice try lol xxx
