Hi I’m new here , I’m just wondering if anyone has any advice - we went to give our notice of marriage on Friday and we’re told we couldn’t do it as my partners mums birth certificate has a different name on it to what is on her marriage certificate so doesn’t match and my partners dads birth certificate is al wrong as well, this was 60 years ago and things were very different back then but they don’t seem to take this into consideration and my partners parents aren’t around very much and don’t actually care. As you can imagine we are distraught and don’t really know what to do. We had this issue getting him a passport however didn’t think we would have this issue with getting married as he managed to get a provisional driving licence with no issue. We’re just at a dead end and meant to be getting married in 6th June. Many thanks in advance

I was never asked for ID for my parents and neither was my partner. We had to provide our own ID and that was it. We only put our mothers down as neither of us speak to our dads, with mine not even being on my birth certificate. Why have they asked for that?
Have they at least gave you advice on what to do in this instance?
