Right, we know someone who does wedding photography, that has quite good prices, and we know him quite well so it would be lovely to have him...
HOWEVER...
when I FBmessaged him to ask him about it, he took days to respond even though I knew he'd been on fb (had posted lots of things) and it really annoyed me, and also even though he's a friend of ours, he didn't mention that we could have a special rate of something (sounds selfish I know) and that kinda upset me too. The other thing is that I don't particularly like some of the photograph styles he does, so I'd have to explain what types of photos I'd like, which I suppose you have to do anyway, but if he's not going to help us a little bit, I don't want to really give him the opportunity?
Should I email him on the address he gives on his wedding photography website and ask more questions, or shall I look elsewhere?
Advice please!! xxxx

Personally, I'd look around. I have a friend who is a professional photographer who I have known since primary school, our parents are good mates and we keep in touch, although we are more acquaintances. However, loads of questions went through my head, what if the photos were awful? What if she was late? What if the quality was bad? What if her style wasn't what I wanted. I concluded it isn't worth the stress and I wanted a photographer that was based purely on a professional relationship. I didn't want to worry about it.

Yeah, I'd forget the whole idea and look elsewhere. Lets face it, if you don't like his style, then there's a good chance you might not like the photos, which would be awful. And would probably ruin your friendship.
