we are going to show our photographer around the venue on Sunday and have ouor pre wedding shoot so we can get comfortable in front of the camera. I don't know what to wear!! She said to just dress 'as normal' but I don't want to look a mess. I also don;t want to look too made up as I think this will look silly too. Any suggestions? Has anyone had one of these before?

Wear something that makes you feel good but make sure that you are both wearing the same kind of style. It won't look good if you are in jeans and your favorite top and he is in a tux or you are in an evening dress and he is in his scruffs.

With regards to make-up, I'd wear more than you usually do, but keep it natural (if that makes sense). What looks great in the mirror can totally disappear on camera and a no-make-up look can actually involve a lot of make-up. Could you get a free makeover at a beauty counter, or something, if you're not confident with make-up?

I need to experiment with make up. i love my day make normally but on camera it looks like i'm wearing nothing at all. I don't want to look like a clown to ppl just to look good on camera.

You don't need to look like a clown for your make up to look great on camera; you just need to apply more in the right way.
We're having an engagement shoot on the 3rd July and Rich will dress normally ie Jeans & t shirt. I will be wearing a maxi dress and little short sleve cardy as its dressey and pretty but still really me :D xxx

Do what im gonna do I had a trial make up thingy at one of the counters in "a shop" for the wedding and I mentioned i had a pre wedding shoot but i was unsure of how to do my make up, as i dont normally wear any and i dont want to look washed out on film! So she said OFF THE RECORD book an appointment here again and get it done for free (as ive changed dtes ahe said i could get away with another freebie, and if not go to a different shop lol) then go for your engagement shoot with the make up on lol (ps shes a family friend otherwise she wouldnt have said anything lol)
As for clothes we have both decided smart casual so prob jeans for us both with some sort of a top

I like the idea of jeans and a nice top or I have a nice pink maxi for my hen night I could wear. Shoot in on Sunday so won't be able to get to a make up counter. Am just gonna experiment and see... watch this space.lol

we did an engagement shoot with venture and we wore normal clothes, took the dog and looked fun and relaxed in our natural setting.

Well I wore jeans and a nice top and Paul wore similar. It chucked down with rain to start so we dodged the monsoon in the woods then the sky cleared and we had lovely sunshine. We were there for three hours and my face aches from smiling, God knows how I'm gonna cope all day on the day! We took the dog and he was a star. The photographer loved him lol. Can't wait to see the pics in a weeks time. Will try and upload some on here but not sure as we get them on a DVD slideshow. Thanks for all your help ladies.xx

It was really nice for our photographer to get a feel for the venue and we were able to take some shots that we won't get on the day cos there's no way I'm climbing trees or trailing thru the woods in my Maggie!

i had a free engagement shoot last month just b4 our anniversary which we had in public on a lovely sunny day in brighton which was really crowded ... h2b didnt feel comfortable as there where to many ppl around but i actually was ok with it... we only dressed as leisure as we didnt know really what to wear ... i think u should dress maybe summery if its a lovely day a light make up and he should be also maybe jeans a normal t-shirt not to much ott :) u going to be ok hun!!! just try to react normal and enjoy it as if there was no camera :)
