ladies i want advice
im having a hot buffet for my reception for my day guest, my reception is at asocial club as we couldnt afford a hotal or anything, im decorating the room and dressing the chairs and tables like any other venue,
but i was playing around trying to make a table plan for my day guests after speaking to my mom she said not to bother with a formal table plan just to have a table for the bridal party and dress the other tables and let everyone sit where they want
what do people think about this would this be ok or should i do a table plan i dont mind doing one just wondered what would be best

i would say the table plan only because i know what my friends/family are like and it would have been a nightmare without one no matter what the venue xx

thats what i was thinking but my mom recons people would rather sit where they wanted but i thought if i just group them in families and then come the evening when the evening guests get there they can move if they want it would only be for food and the speaches

I was in a similar situation to you, had my reception in a village hall, but dressed it properly with chair covers and stuff, and I had a bbq, not a formal 3 course meal. However I did do a table plan as I didnt want to fuss of people wondering where so sit, and taking ages trying to decide where to sit. It worked very well with the table plan and I was glad I did it.I think it just helps things be more organised and less stressful x

i think im gonna go with table plan then im an organised person and like things to be just so i think id end up screaming if people start fussing and causing a comotion of where to sit lol

thanks sbride if just got to convice my mom now its for the best, i think she said not to do it to save me the hassle but ive got plenty of time and organised alot already so was planning on starting it in next month just drafting it all out ready to be made, what are the best things to use for names and table numbers

It depends on your theme hun? I just used numbers to name my tables as me and the husband couldnt agree. What is your theme?

well for our table names my h2b used to be a professional snooker player so each table is named after a snooker player! xx

theme? we havent got one i dont think ive tried asing h2b and get nothing bk lol, he is not that involved in wedding planning he only cares how much money im spending lol

lol, well if there is something you really like then you could name the tables after them, like if you love films, you could name them after your fave films, or if your sports fans, you could name them after famous sports people. We just had numbers though but there are lots of things you could do with table names. My best friend got engaged in vegas and was going back there for her honeymoon, so named their tables after famous hotels in vegas.

you could just number them 1,2,3 etc. that is what we were going to do until h2b persuaded me otherwise xx

ohhh we do love films maybe we could name them after our favourite films im not a sport person but h2b is a major blues fan but dont fancy having blues palyers lol
