was wondering if anyone is having a hot buffet for the day time guest instead of the formal sit down, as i dont know if we still should do a table plan for people we are having the reception in our social club and thats where we will be going for the hot buffet after the wedding any advice welcome

I am having a hot buffet for when we get our Venue. I have made a table plan, because I think it makes it a lot more organised. Let everyone find where they should be sitting then open the buffet, that way no one is going to start arguing about who is going to sit where, and that way it should be nice and orderly and organised for when it comes the speeches and toasts. thanks ignition that helps i just didnt know as i dont wnat to seem silly doing it but it would make it alot more organised, what about when evening guests arrive though should i try and have a few empty tables if poss for them

You could do that, what we are having, is we are going to have everyone from the main reception towards the top, with some empty tables at the back for the people who are coming later, and then they are being cleared o the side a bit more to allow more room for later on in the night.

ok i may sound totally thick but who normally sits on the top table is it bride groom bridesmaides best man ushers father of the bride or not or should mothers be on there as well
The top table should be, as follows from left to right
Chief Bridesmaid/Maid Of Honour - Groom's Father - Bride's Mother - Groom - Bride - Bride's Father - Groom's Mother - Best Man
This is basically what mine will look like (in Theory), but you can seat it anyway you like really. xx
