Just wondered how long acyrillic nails are meant to last, I had mine put on last wednesday before my wedding and they all came off today, my mum had hers done on thursday and they were off by saturday.
The salon we used is very new, only been open 2-3 weeks, but still would have thought they should have lasted longer than that =/
Any advice would be lovely xxx

a good set of acrllics should last you 2 weeks and then by 4 weeks your nails will have grown and you should go and get them redone.....i coach sports all day long and make mine last a month before they look like they need doing....do some research get some friends to give you their reviews on places and go somewere with a long stadning reputation....i would advise for a wedding dont do a cheapy and have a new nail technician do your nails cus there offering it for £20 go to someone with experiance and it cost £25 it should be £25 or more well spent!
doing everyday things should not affect them. i always used to wear them. i would clean, got to work, cook everything in them! you have to have them infilled about every 3 weeks but they should not have just come off! i would go back and make a huge complaint! say they are for your wedding and you are very annoyed and unhappy with the service. tell them you have been having them years and it has never happened before! xx
CommentAuthorMrsE
They were fine for the day tilly :) Looked just as good as any other salon. Was just a bit concerned that they have come off this soon after, mums had hers done before and they've lasted at least a month xx

Iv had mine done for last 2 years and they always lasted 3 weeks before i had infills done, i changed woman last week as normal one costs are abit pricey and 2 of mine are starting to come off, so i think it depends on where you go. xx
CommentAuthortwirler
mine last 3 to 4 weeks before infills are needed i guess it depends on how quick your nails grow for the infill date but i have never had my acrylics fall off ever and i have been getting mine done on and off for 6 years now xx

I'v never had mine doneuz I grow my nails, but my mum is a terrible biter. She has had hers done a few time and they last a lot longer that. She never did have them filled in as often as you should to.
CommentAuthorx ashlil x
mine normally last about 3 weeks, they dont really come off unless i get it caught on something and i have to have them filled in every 3 weeks as my nails grow really quick x
CommentAuthorMrshewart2b
also depends on what type of stuff they use, i know some called weekenders last litrally just a couple of days hence the name, the bond isnt as strong as the norm. i always used biogel as this doesnt harm your natural nail, had it on for over 5 yrs then the product changed slightly and started to lift. im thinking of using minx nails for my wedding?!
CommentAuthorRhiannonollie
Ive only ever had mine done once just after x mas! And they were on for about 2 weeks and only came off because i actually pulled them off - I am sure that they would have lasted at least 4 weeks if i had wanted them too. But I just cant stand having false nails on. I love them and think they look great (when they are done well and arent too long) but whenever i get them done (as in I usually do them at home myself) I always end up ripping them off within 2 days!!
The ones i got done profesionally only lasted 2 weeks because they cost so bloody much and i didnt want to waste the money!!
But yeah they should last!! Id be hacked off to say the least if they only lasted a week!
is soooo happy and lucky
CommentAuthorAldridge2B
it can depend on a few things the condition of your nails the products they use and how well they are applied.
they can however start lifting that very same day but they may still last. the average is about 2-3 weeks. it sounds to me like you either have oily nail beds and they have not prepared them well enough and not used enough primer or that they have used no primer atall, hope this helps x x

nail tech here- they should never ''come off'' lol
about every2 to 3 weeks depending on ther person you will need an infill but they should never ever just come off!!!!!! no matter what your doing...acrylic is very very strong and while it is snapable thro a persons own fault and it is recommended that you should always still use your finger tips n never the nail for things such as opening cans etc they should never ever just come off.
go back and kick off..........try and take the nails with you if possible....... they should refund your money. x x

i wear acrylics all the time and normally get them filled in every 2-3 weeks, but that depends on how fast your own nails grow. i do everything in mine, and granted sometimes they break. beware that there is alot of chinese shops doing nails which i believe have a bad reputation but as long as any shop you use use NSI nails and a fully qualified technician with experience, then you cant go wrong.
mrs pearson2b sounds like my nail tech.........experienced! xx

I would go back and complain. They didn't do a good job of them at all. I used to go to one place and they always started to lift as they hadn't done them properly but when I started going to a new place they grew out not lifted off so I had to have the infills done which is usually every 3-4 weeks depending on how quick your nails grow.
The only way them nails should be coming off is if you either melt them on the cooker (never a good thing to do) or you soak them in acetone. Get your money back and go somewhere else.
CommentAuthormartay (marie)
XjoX. i definately think soaking is the best option. for gods sake though, do not use SALLY HANSEN REMOVER. i did once to soak mine off and the colour in the acetone turned all my fingers green. i looked like i was morphing into the hulk!!. my nail tech was absolutely hysterical with laughter when she saw me and it took about 3 days for the colour to go!
clear/colourless acetone is obviously the way forward! xx

Hahahaha. I used to get mine from the pharmacy in boots. You can get the neat stuff from them. Works far better than anything on the shelf.
I can just imgaine you walking around with green fingers.

They shouldnt normally just come off, they grow out and you would need them infilling. Were your nails prepped before they put the acrylic on?
CommentAuthorserine4andrew
I had this problem everytime i had acrylic nails put on... but recently ive been using the powder and liquid nails ... its fantastic! you have to get them filled every 3 weeks but they have stayed put and look lovely up until im due to have them done again!! really recomend them, in the meantime, go back to where you had them done and complain, they should give you your money back with no problems at all!! :) xxx

The other thing is I would check to see if they are qualified as you are not allowed to trade without having the proper training.
CommentAuthorxbeckix88
Oh dear if they've come off already thats not very good. When I had mine done they lasted me a month i had my infills done as my nails under neath had started to grow, but even after that i had to literally bite away at them for ages to get some off - which i then gave up on and used acrylic nail removed haha! But i dont think they should of fallen off by their selevs that quick!
CommentAuthorHappilymarried Mrs G
I do mine myself, and at the moment they last just over a week, then i remove them and start again. But i have been a bad nail biter for years and my natural nails were in an awful condition, i started using the acrylic (bought my own kit) a few weeks ago now. My nails are looking much better and i just re-did it again, hopefully will last a bit longer this time round. When i had it done a couple of years ago in a shop, they lasted just over 2 weeks and like i said, my nails were awful the woman warned me at the time they might only last a few days but i wanted them done for a special occassion and got a nice suprise.
CommentAuthormummy2Olivia_Lisa
i dont know who it was but some1 commented on there gel nails only lasting a week, gel are more natural looking and more flexible but can lift quite easy with water. acrylic should not lift and if they do chances are theyve been applied to close to the cuticle or the nail wasnt prepared properly 1st, the only time they may come off is as blondmumma said if you have very short nails in which case you will be advised that the product cant be guaranteed.

They weren't near the cuticles, my nails were prepped and they were qualified... im not holding a corner for them because it was obviously a poor job, but those three things were DEFINITELY done!! xx

hmmmmm strange..... perhaps they were cheap products? or maybe sometimes people mix there products ie. use star nail primer but pinnicle acrylic,
who knows but either way they should have been fine hun....main thing is they looked lovely on ur big day and stood u well :D

CommentAuthorAldridge2B
i am a nail tech to. they should not have came off after a week if you would have said 3 weeks then i can see that because they loose the strenght as your nails grow. they were either a rubish nail tech and did a poor job or they didnt prpare well ie leaving grease on your nail.x x
CommentAuthoralanafx
Ive been getting my done for the past 7 years now ive never had mine come off without actually taking them off, mine usually last 3-4 weeks then i need infills then another 3-4 weeks and i get a new set! id defo complain thats really not good enough their obviously not very good at their job ! xx

Hey girls,
I went back to them last night after calling them and explaining to them what had happened, so they tried different shaped tips and a different liquid to make the acryllic and they already feel MUCH stronger and like they are going to last!!! ... and they didn't charge me for them, they were really apologetic about the last said that they shouldn't have done that, so i'm now their guinea pig and get my nails done twice more for free =D
Thankyou all so much for all your comments and help and i'll deffo keep you updated on how they hold up!
