lol not my cup of tea but i guess if the bride and groom were happy with it then that is all that matters! i wouldn't like to be on the receiving end though, id feel really embarrassed even if it was the bride and groom who planned it!

As long as they were in on it they had the chance to say no. I still wouldn't have it though x
Can you imagine how awful the day would have been if she'd said no, wouldn't wish that on the bridal couple :/

Apparently it's was the bride and groom's idea, the girl is the Brides sister. And the groom even held the ring for the guy.

I remember reading this too....I really wouldn't be happy if that happened on my day. Imagine putting all that effort, money and time in to planning your perfect day and someone steals your sunshine...
No way! x

I saw this, I also feel sorry for the poor girl getting proposed to as she had no say in it and probably felt very awkward on a very special moment!

I wouldn't be very happy if this happened on my wedding day. Almost as bad as SIL and BIL at our wedding. They had a song request that the DJ announced as 'this one is for Deborah and Nick who got married last year' and it happened to be their first dance song. I'm all for people having a song request but I wouldn't request my first dance song at someone else's wedding :o/

I agree, I wouldn't be too happy about it either, and that poor lass being put on the spot like that, wondered if she said yes haha

surely though if your friends or family decided to do this on your wedding day, you would be pleased for them ?? If any of my friend did this in front of me no matter where we were or what day, I be like - YAYE !! WOOP WOOP.. think its quite sad the amount of people who say they wouldn't be happy and I wouldn't have it at my wedding.. Love is love, let people love who and show it wherever they want . They not trying to steal your thunder.. and if they are, then they not a real friend and shouldn't even be at your wedding.. So what , that for a few minutes all eyes were on another couple, be happy for them if it happens.. It still will always be remembered as your wedding day not the day so and so proposed to so and so ...
Soooooo excited to be marrying my Best Friend !!

Personally I'd have been really really really really upset. Talk about stealing thunder. For me it's the rudest thing you could do at someone's wedding and just inappropriate.
Fine if you have the blessing of both the bride and groom.

It's on the same level as announcing you're pregnant at someone's wedding, just don't do it!

My cousin went around asking other family members if they'd be coming to his wedding during my sister and BILs wedding breakfast! Thought that was really rude too. For just one day why can't people not try and make the day about them and let the bride and groom have their day without it being hijacked.

If it was someone close to me or my husband and they asked our permission I wouldn't object, in fact I'd probably insist they did it and help them to plan it. However if they just went ahead and did it I would be upset. I must admit there were friends of my husband who'd been dating for years, and actually got engaged a month or so before our wedding, but if they hadn't I was planning to chuck the bouquet at the girl and would have been more than happy for the man to propose to her. I think if it was distant friends or relatives I wouldn't be so keen to agree to it, but if it was a sibling or someone who really meant a lot I'd be encouraging it.
30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.
