Right, just had a MASSIVE argument with h2b about gifts to each other on the day. I read on here about giving each other a memory box on the day which I thought was a lovely idea, you don't spend too much money because its all things you already have and it's a nice personal touch, so I bought it up with him and he said he doesn't have time for all that shit and the weddings costing enough money as it is...HE'S NOT EVEN PAYING, MY PARENTS ARE!!! We're not getting married till next August, there only about 10 things on the list but he's not even willing to put one thing in the box a month!!! I've already organised with his brothers in New Zealand about getting something signed for him from the All Blacks rugby team and his bros have gone all out yet from what he's just said I'll be lucky if I get a kiss from him on the day, let alone a present!!! I know giving gifts is not about recieving them in return, in fact, I love going all out for him and giving him things he will cherish, I love seeing the look on people's faces when they get gifts I've given, but just a little interest from him would be nice!
Am I being completely unreasonable here and have just woke up on the wrong side of the bed or do you see where I'm coming from?? Aaaaaaaaaaaggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Rant over.

    Aw Aimee,

Men are different when it comes to giving sentimental things. Try not to worry too much. I've got my h2b a bag with odds and sods in and would love a gift back from him however, I doubt h'll have even thought of it!

If you want to do it for him, do it.

He wouldn't have to spend money as you already have the things and one thing a month I's nothing. I would be annoyed as well. You really need to sit down and talk to him. It should be the most magical day of your lives x x

Thanks guys, I will still get him what I was planning as like I said, I don't give to recieve. It just felt like a bit of a kick in the teeth. One thing I should have mentioned though is the fact that this is his 2nd marriage, my first, and I just feel like his whole attitude towards this is 'been there, done that!'

Unfortunately thats men! They are sentimental and thoughtful in their own way. You do what you want, if you want to give it to him go for it! x

I would leave it now as 10 months to go and that is a lifetime for a man.... we get married in August and i have already thought and planned out his present but he hasnt even thought about mine and probably wont until much nearer the time. If you moan or nagg him he wont respond very well, im sure he will get you something but he doesnt see it as important yet as men dont always get the little things xxx
