at the end of our speeches we are going to play stand up bingo- everyone stands up and we say anyone whos not married sit down, any one whos been married a year, 2,5,10,15,20 etc until we get to like 50 and then go round and ask the people still standing how long etc and we identify who are the longest married couple and present them my flowers and ask then to say few words as to how to follow such a successful marreiage like theirs!!
i think its very touchin!

that would be beautiful touch. the only peoplpe i can think of who have been married a long time are my parents - 33yrs - so would be amazing to have the opportunity to say that to them. x

I have heard of something similar but where all couples come to the dance floor and the couple last standing as married the longest get a prize. I would like to do it as my parents have been married 51 years!
ryhope17- yer ive heard it that way to- just bothered not everyone will get up :(
plus i think if will finishes off speeches nicely and be a tear jerker!! xx

jaesin- o dear, maybe not on the cards for you this one atm then eh :)

That would be depressing at our wedding. Anyone who had a long marriage is now widowed and most of the rest would struggle to make 20 years.
CommentAuthorMRS WILKINSON
yer i spose if would go one way or another! sorry to hear that tho hun:( xx
CommentAuthorJilly17
I would only do it because of my mum and dad and I like the idea of being able to single them out. They deserve medals after 51 years!!!!

Its a lovely idea - but It would worry me to do it because of the amount of divorces etc.
My side of the family have no divorces at all, but H2B's family have.... a lot!
The winners would be my Grandmother and Grandfather who have been married for 55 years.
Then my mum and dad who have been married 34 years
So If I did it it would be like I was saying Hey look at my family and how good they are at marriage and how bad your family is because no one has made it past 10 years with you!!!
is soooo happy and lucky

bargain hunter stres- haha! wonder how well that would go down at a wedding nhaha!!
rhiannonolle- yer i understand that- im quite lucky not many D's in our party! but shame to not shine light on nur mum and dad for the great love they have!! xx

yeah I was very lucky - I grew up in a family of no divorces and I remember when I went to University most of the people I met came from broken homes I couldnt believe it. Its sad.
BUt hey its life, Sh*t happens, I just happened to be one of the lucky ones.
is soooo happy and lucky
