H2B decided last night that we're going to have a mini-moon instead of a honeymoon straight away - for several reasons...The main one being that we don't really have the money for a proper honeymoon straight after the wedding and also because my best friend is an Australian and she's coming over for the wedding, so i'd rather spend time with her.

Just wondered if anyone else was doing something similar and wondered what you were planning? We're thinking of going for a 2 night spa break that we found last night - £150 each for 2 nights dinner, bed and breakfast and lunch on the second day AND 2 mini treatments each!!! That's a bargain if you ask me!!

Still in the early stages though, so any other ideas would be great :-) x

That sounds like a fabulous idea (and such a bargain)! We've got family travelling from all over so being able to spend some time with them after the wedding as well is great! x

I know I was so excited when I found the deal - I want to book it now though!! But i'm guessing it's a bit early to do that! :-(

We had a minimoon as neither Paul or I are into sunning ourselves on a beach abroad and also we had no spare pennies to afford an overseas honeymoon to somewhere we fancied. So instead we booked into a wee holiday chalet in Perthshire for 4 nights and we spent the days exploring the beautiful surroundings and wee towns. It was ideal and a couple of months before the wedding I found out that Pauls parents wanted to pay for a wee holiday for us after the wedding as they wanted us to get away for a break so luckily they paid for the accommodation for us and all we needed was spends for food, petrol, etc. xx

We've got family travelling to our wedding so we've delayed the honeymoon till a week after the wedding. I have 6 weeks off in the summer so we can be flexible

we are doing the same....I am disabled and pretty poorly so could not manage a proper honeymoon so a few nights together in a spa will be great until I am well enough to do the honeymoon properly...sounds like a fab deal though...I would be tempted to book if you have everything else sorted and booked!

ermmmm, well we've got the venue booked and the registrar booked...we've decided on the favours, seating plan, roughly the flowers, what music i'm walking into and what we're walking out too...Does that count?! The deal is with Barcelo hotels and it's a special deal they do - I think it's amazing, I went on a spa day for my friends hen do and that was £100 just for the day! The hotel looks lovely too - it's the Redworth Hall in County Durham, so only an hour and a half from where we live - perfect distance! We've even decided where we're going to have lunch on the Tuesday on the way home!!
