Me and my h2b were planning to get married abroad but ive seen a venue i love over here and me and my h2b are going to see it tomorrow. So i rang today and asked how much of a deposit we would have to pay to secure a date in july 2012 and they said £1000 when i asked why it had doubled the guy was very nice and explained that all the venues in the area had gone up in deposit because they have had a few cancellations. So i asked does that mean that all the food/drink and accomadation would go up and he said the most they would go up is 8%-10% which isnt to bad. So when i came off the phone my mum came over to me to see what he had said when i told how much the deposit was she ok and said me and your day will pay the deposit well i still can't believe it due to there financial situation. I cant get over it i told them originally when we got engaged we didnt excpet a penny off them and for them to have saved that much for us is amazing. So it looks like tomorrow we could have are venue im so excited.

we was in same boat hunny, we said we paying for it all ourselves as i left it quite late to get married (40) this yr H2B 36 this yr, anyway i borrowed £2000 of my parents to buy a car last yr and they have said not to pay it back but count it as their contribution to the wedding we was soooooooooo pleased as we was orginally having a very small and quiet wedding but after going to a wedding that they had organized themselves we decided we didn t want the hassell of doing dec's etc ourselves and have booked a historic house and just invited 60 guest including ourselves and my parents have just about paid for it with the money i owed them we all need sometines to fall unexpectedly on our parents wether it was intensional or not and i'm sure in a few yrs when it's my kids turns to get married i will do the same xhave a fab time xxxx
