Wedding Forum - A little bit of fun - Models vs real...

I saw something like this on an American site and thought I would see how well it would do here... I've seen so many ladies post pictures of themselves in their dresses lately, hopefully it will just add to the fun!

I often see other brides posting 'I would never have considered this dress if I hadn't been encouraged to try it by someone else' and even 'If I had seen my dress on the model first, I never would have bought it'

So let's have a play. I want you all to post pics of your dress on you, and on the model. It doesn't even have to be The One, just so we can all see real dresses on real women. You can also say maybe what put you off about the dress on the model, and what you like best about it on you! Also comment on others' dresses if you like!

So I'll go first. My dress is a Maggie Sottero Destinations, SD5230 copy. I liked it on the model, but she must be both very tall and very thin (or maybe standing on a box) haha. I

I think sometimes the models don't do the dresses justice! So many times girls with REAL curves and bodies take a dress that looks so-so on a model and they aboslutely own it, and make it look a million times better.

I haven't got a pic in mine yet but i'm going back to see it next Wed so will be sure to add pics then xxx

Ooo Not near my computer now on my mobile bit when I get home I'll definately do this! Feeling slightly sad I've had to leave my dress at my mums house now and come home! I want to go look at it lol

Ive had my dress completely changed so looks nothing like what it dos on the model!!! Here goes! (oh the pic of me in it is before all the sewing was done, im pinned into the dress!)

You know I prefare them on real women than looking at the stick insects. I'll see if I can get a pic of mine up. trouble is my dress isn't due to arrive until sometime this month and the sample dress is too small as it is for a size 12 and I'm an 18.

I wasn't wearing a hoop that day when I tried it on and also didn't puff it out before the pics were taken.

Definitely Faeth! I hate they way they pose to make themselves look thinner or something... all collarbones and elbows most of them! They should be posing to show the dress off, not the weight of the poor stick shoved inside it. I have also heard that a lot of the model pics are photoshopped quite heavily... weird thing is a lof of the time the pics don't show the little details of a dress properly... they might focus on a neckline or a train... not lighting the set properly and losing all the embroidery and beading! It's so silly, and again just makes the dresses look that much better on a real person!!!

i didnt see my dress on a model untill after i bought it x id seen it in the shop window on the dummy x
