Hi Guys just a quicky and to share a really good idea with you. Whilst at a wedding fair in Barrow in Furness Cumbria I came across stall full of hand made invites etc etc but she also had something called a jar of wishes. Basically it is a jar or in this case a bird cage full of heart shaped notes with enevelopes and people who attend your wedding and/or night do can write wish for/to the happy couple but with it comes a nice poem and I thought it was quite fitting. something about being here travelling near and far yar de yar de ya you get the picture and As we are getting married abroad and having a night do when we get back (which will be on the large side) I thought it woukld be quite fitting! just a thought and an idea for you guys who may be in a similar situation xxx

I love ideas like this but the last few weddings I've been to where people have had guest books/wishing trees/cameras on tables etc, anything that involves a bit of input from the guests, the items have pretty much been ignored as people have been more concerned about eating, drinking and dancing and socialising! The poor brides on both occasions had to go around reminding people to write in the guest book/put notes on the wishing tree and take pictures with the little cameras as no-one was bothering! At one wedding the bride had an usher grabbing people as they were leaving to put a message in the guest book as no-one had done it during the evening! Bit of a shame! I've got a guest book for our wedding and am going to get a bridesmaid to take it around during the evening and get people to write in it... and make sure people dont go home with our two specially made pens (got our names and wedding date on them!).

That does sound like a lovely idea, should have thought about using one of my bird cages for that purpose but ordered a post box now. We are having a signing frame with a nice photo of me and h2b in middle until we can replace it with a wedding photo and put it up on our wall. And no one will forget as it will be in a prominent place for everyone to see! :)

I have got enough fuss pots in my family to make sure my guests send us a wish lol so hopefully won't need to remind anybody myself xxx

I'm doing something similar, but using a wishing tree to hang them and I'll be sending the hearts out with the invites so that they can be returned with the RSVP and pre-hung on the tree. I've always found I'm lost for words when it's come to write in the guest book, this way our guests have a chance to think about their thoughts.

I love the idea of these, it sounds beautiful x
