Hi there I'm getting married in 2018 I am in my mid 50's and a size 16. I want to get married in white. I have looked a lots of pictures but trying not to set my heart on a particular design as not sure what will actually suit me. Are there any older brides out there with a similar dilemma..

I would definitely recommend heading to your local W3d2B3 Outlet if you have one, they have a massive selection of styles and I went a couple of times just to find out what kind of thing I liked, which for me was ivory lace and buttons! Once I found that out I started looking online and at designers , and I actually found my dress at the national wedding show in Birmingham last year :)
top tip if going to the show take a days holiday and go on the Friday. it was lovely and relaxed and people actually had time tot talk to you
go with your gut though! I found I ended up with a dress completely different to what I had imagined I would have xx

I agree with trying on different styles, I found a couple of private shops aren't very varied with their choices, big warehouses like W3D2B3 have so many you can try on. I tried on different designs at the N4ti0nal W3dding 5how and narrowed down what I wanted, found a dream designer dress onl I need, then hunted down a sample sale bargain.
If you are worried visiting a dress shop can really help, the ladies are great with style suggestions. Good luck finding 'the one' x

I'm 40 and getting good married in October 18, and I have no idea what I want! I was considering a blush or champagne dress rather than white, but I'd still like a fairly big dress lol. I love lace... I also have loads of weight to lose before I try anything on, so I am refusing to look yet. X

Have you added the fb page? Uk Brides 2018. There we share pictures of ideas we all have and things we have made/ordered. We also have a weight loss thread on both there and on here to support each other. There a few brides trying to lose a few lbs before our big day, me included.
