We've both said so many times that if we could start the wedding planning process again we'd just go abroad with the kids, I have found the whole process quite stressful.

I'm sure I'll be alright, just needed a rant :( sorry all!

I had to take a step back from everything. not so much the wedding stressing me out but getting the house up for sale has been a nightmare. H2bs mum and sister are bugging the life out of me I asked them weeks ago for addresses and im still waiting. MILs face tripped her the whole day at afternoon tea to the extent bil's dad (Our photographer) commented to my dad that she was rude. The woman is rude she hates me and she made it clear she wasnt happy to be there with everyone. Ijust hope she fakes a smile on the wedding day otherwise I fear my mum will knock her clean out. (Ive had issues with mil over the years) I am a very strong minded woman.

I wish we had just disappeared and got married. Ive knocked a few people off the list that MIl.SIl said we should invite BUT we dont know these people so feel its stupid to invite them. My big cousin is still going on about getting only an evening invite. The funny thing is I wanted to have a registry office wedding then have a party but no OH wanted this big thing and left me to deal with it. (It will be worth it on the day but right now ive had enough)

Yeah that's its exactly, I cant wait to marry Alan but the whole pleasing everyone else can beat it.

yes i have to agree too! it is a shame we feel we have to please everyone, when in actual fact its our days and we should do what we want, not what everyone expects of us, in any shape or form!

well im rather upset today, The long awaited excitement about my 1st dress fitting has been destroyed. I called to see if my dress had arrived the other day, because I hadn't heard from them to say it had. Anyway I was told it had and I needed to arrange to go in. However I didn't have my diary with me so couldn't book an appointment there and then. However I called the bridal shop back today, and advised I could only go in on a Saturday or Sunday. I was then rudely told that they only do dress fittings on Thursday, I explained that Thursday was not a day I could attend. So the reply I got was well if you cant get in for a fitting then just come pick your dress up and see if you can take it somewhere else if alterations need doing! I was obviously gob smacked and upset at how rude this woman was. in the end I didn't really know what to say so I ended up just saying I would call them back when I can arrange something to go in.
Now im sat thinking bout it I think she was out of order not offering me a suitable time and day that fits me too. I am so disappointed in how she spoke to me and has now felt me feeling disheartened about the whole process. I have already paid for the dress in full so cant really tell them to stick it and ask for my money back.
I really dont know what to do

omg! Amanda, this is terrible, so they are happy to take your money but not happy to be flexible to suit the bride, how rude, i would be emailing them with what you have just told us and tell them, as a bride spending lots of money on a dress from there shop, you would expect to be treated with more respect than that, they should be doing any alterations for free if needed, do they really think that every bride can be available on a Thursday and that's it, oh i am fuming for you, big hugs and go write that email to them, it is disgusting behavior!

Most bridal shops seem to try and keep weekends for potential brides that are searching for their dresses unfortunately. Luckily my dress shop are fantastic and are always trying to accommodate me which is fab :) I'd ring back and speak to the manager and discuss the assistants behaviour because that is completely unacceptable. If they can't find a spare hour for you to come in then they shouldn't be in business!

Amanda I'm sorry to hear how you were treated. I agree with the ladies get back in touch and make sure it's with someone in authority. As much as you have paid for dress really you have also paid for service and fittings, ok they might only do certain days but I'm sure other brides are like you and can't always match days with them! Please don't dread the first fitting x

Ticker gone down to 3 months!! Waah!

Seeing as my ring didnt fit for the wedding, we used some of the gift money to have it resized, it was due in on 16th April but arrived today! here is the ring in its rightful place... on my finger.... the ring that my husband designed!

Glad it fits properly yes.... however I did notice lastnight that I have managed to put quite a deep scratch in the yellow gold square within 10 hours of having it back :( ut definately glad it fits...

i dont even know how i managed to scratch it on top.... on bottom i know how it got a few minor scratches (the joys of being married to a petrol head that manages to blow his rear diff up = crawling along the road to have a look at the damage & why we no longer have a working vehicle!) I'm sure I mentioned before about how my husband sold my car (it was in his name but was agreed that it would be mine when im driving) to our witness... then it turns out our other car ran out of mot on the wedding day well i took it for an mot on wednesday, they only did the emissions, said it was just slightly over & they wasnt going to do the full mot or even charge me, then lied to my mate who sat with me knowing that this guy doesnt own the car & said it was 4 cars worth of emissions (CO2 limit is 0.2 & our car was 0.32, lambda limit is 1.03 our car was 1.1 - not 4 cars worth... that just means it needs a bottle of redex & to warm the catalitic converter up before testing!) ( the way the cat works is that it needs to be warm before hand.. so the heat shield is fitted to cars to keep the heat IN not out... before doing emissions tests on vehicles for the mot, the tester should let the cat warm up, so have it running for a few minutes BEFORE putting the emissions prong in the exhaust - he didnt warm our car up first)... so consequently there is still no mot on our car... my husband went to help someone out of a ditch the other night & on the way home there was a huge *bang* and he lost all drive... turns out the *bang* was the rear diff exploding (landy had been knocking for a while we just couldnt figure out what it was) so now out of 3 vehicles... we have NONE. Our witness let us borrow MY CAR for food shopping last night & has stated we can borrow it again tonight for our date night that we have planned. I SOOO miss that car! On the other hand... he's selling it back to me sometime soon because the deal was that if he needs to sell it then i get first refusal... now hes having his mums car & shes getting an automatic for medical reasons & so he needs to sell my car again....

I know thats alot of car talk... however.... It only occurred to me this morning..... We have NO car & we are supposed to be meeting the Photographer tomoro to get our wedding photos! We cant borrow witnesses landy as my husband has already got parts from it on his landy (witness sold some parts to hubby) so without swapping them all back over witnesses landy isnt able to be used & we cant borrow my car from witness again because hes going out to get an engine & gearbox from somewhere... we are pretty stuck for meeting our photographer unless our car passes the mot today that hubby has booked..... hmmm...... oh the stress! I want my wedding photos already lol

yeh it didnt pass! halfrauds decided not to put the battery clamp back on when they fitted the new battery so iv told them off & they have agreed to pay the mot fee & refund the battery & buy a new clamp direct from the stealership & personally deliver it to our home lol

regarding the back box.... why dont you put a straight throu on it (basicslly not use the backbox at all). Then you will save money fixing it. You can also do this with the cat but that needs to go back on for an mot.

just a straight bit of pipe (the right size of course) instead of the back box

3 months today for us can hardly contain the excitement.

now ontop of my hair worries, my mum had a call from the dress maker, her mother has been taken ill, and shes having to go home to ?romania? so won't be able to do the dresses. my mum thinks she has found someone else to do them, and going to meet her tomorrow, and hope it gets sorted out, as its 106 days tomorrow.

im looking into having another hair dresser, but its all so overwhelming. been thinking about doing it myself. getting one of thos Baby1iss curl machines, and having a friend whos good at braiding do the hair braid bit, then curing the rest.
also took 2 and a bit hours to do 3 of us sloopily, and only has 3 hours to do 6 of us, and thats cutting it fine.
