You don't have to have hymns but it does help to pad out the service - maybe hymns that people know really well from school or something? We've got a lot of churchgoers going so we are easy but I know it's not as easy for people that don't go to church etc. Maybe only have two hymns and a solo from one of your guests/bridesmaids maybe?

We went rhough our menu's last night (We have alot to choose from and need to pick 3 things per course) we have 2 definites for each course and now have to decide on the 3. we have 3 mains but thinking about changing one to a salmon instead of two similar meat ones.

hello all,
i have been sat down with my mum today and we talked about possibly photos we need, we made a list but its so stressful, trying to remember which ones should be taken, we got to make sure we get the ones we want in the timeframe we have so its stressing me out!

Arguments with canapés going on in our household. New owners so we have a new menu, tasted two flavours and the look and taste delicious. However, they are £1.50 each and from what we can tell they are £1.50 each per person. So if we have 3/4 flavours it works out £4.50/£6.00 per head for tiny pieces of food, Iv never seen canapés this small!
I wouldn't usually have them, but I'm not alowed to take my own food in to give as canapés, and seen as the wedding is at 12:30 and food is 4:30 ... Given breakfast is usually 8:30/9 that is about 8 hours waiting for food, let alone for people who don't eat breakfast like myself!
Any advice would be great!?!?!

oh this is a tricky one, i would ask all guests to have a bite to eat before coming to the wedding, so they dont get hungry, then they can enjoy the day without being starving by 4.30, they will just be staring to get hungry by then if they eat something just before xx

We start the classes with priest soon and all other documents needed are done :)
Dress is due in at end of month or beginning of April :)
Venue has given us a rough timetable of day :)
We are nearly ready to get invites out once final design chosen however so many people who we sent save the date magnets to are ringing and texting saying how excited they are and finding out details of day. I was worried when I started planning that no one would care but so many friends and family are excited.
Somehow always connected , finally became friends .

Hi all I have a list of to dos sort hair trial get BM dresses altered to fit get my daughter and niece their BM shoes Get BM accessories get my accessories still awaiting a call from bridal shop to say my dress has arrived in store get my underwear favors pay off the honeymoon call the registrar office to go discuss the finer details in relation to her coming out to ceremony venue re new my passport oh and to top itall off we have sold our house and due to move in the next 4 weeks, think i may have to pass some jobs on to my maid of honor

My hen party has been arranged so I can relax about that, its a ladies night where we have our hair and makeup done while being served cocktails from a naked butler (he has an apron on over his crown jewels) it is a three hour event we have professional photos when we are all made up and then head off into town to finish the night off. Not everyones cup of tea but it sounds fun

* find and buy the bridesmaids sandals/shoes x2 *get chief bridesmaid to get her final fitting done *go with mum for her fitting for her outfit *find mum her shoes *make favor boxes *cut out place names and make them *make up kids activity bags *wear my shoes in *have a hair and makeup trial *do a dress rehearsal with everything *have hen weekend and hen night :) *get H2B to move his bottom and arrange something for his stag (he is reluctant) *find more bits for dressing up booth/make bits *finish photo list *get shoes for H2B and Son *make wedding here signs for the side of the road *make ipad stand for photo booth *paint another 9 butterflies for the table names *tell sweet buffet lady a few choices of sweets *possibly order another table center piece as guests gone up *make the fruit cake and the rest of the cake *get a few skipping ropes for the children to play with *make confetti with dried flowers *make a contact list *sort out the song choices and wedding ceremony format to send to the registrar *put the songs on a disk or ipod *make a frame for the memory poem/pictures of people that we ave lost *cut out gold butterflies for the table *give final numbers for chair covers *give final numbers for venue *meet with videographer to talk over what we want *have a nervous breakdown lol! omg!

My hen weekend, we are having a Dreamboys event night! VIP access in Cardiff!
Also recently found out my surprise hen weekend a month before is just me, my sister and mum going to Majorca for 3 nights!!! Exciting!!!! :D gets the strapless tan ready for the wedding! :)

I think your hen sounds lovely Amanda... I much prefer the idea of naked butlers to an actual stripper. I would hate a stripper but naked butlers are much less in your face, a bit more of a laugh in my opinion. When is it?
Still don't have much of an idea about my hen, just a local night and a not so local night-still really looking forward to it though.... less than 3 months to go now ;)
Tomorrow will be 5 months until our wedding day as well! How exciting.

its all the finer details that are the worst in my opinion, I suppose you can go on forever and a day if you wanted. But I have drawn the line on our extras now. How have you ladies managed to stick to your budgets and said enough is enough, I find it so hard, I see an idea and think wow htat would be good then add it. I went to see the venue dresser the other week to pay some of the balance off and I ended up adding something else has she just got something new in haha.

We have gone way way over our initial budget, but we are managing.
I totaled it all up today and we are coming in at just under £18,000 (about £6,000 over). Luckily my dad gave us some money towards the wedding as a gift, so that helped.
Having to be a bit more ruthless now and just say no. MIL has invited a few friends we have never met, I'm ok with it, as she's just being proud and showing off (she's in her 70's and wanted her bingo buddy's to come and see a Greek Wedding). But I told her no more after these as there won't be space, and it costs us £80 per person for the reception meal).

Yeah Bethan its in my married name. SOOO weird signing it, felt like a school girl practising first lol!
We couldn't decide on a cake for ages and only finalised it the other week with the friend making it.
I wrote out the place cards tonight and realised I mixed up two of the couples surnames (OHs grandads brother/sister, so I dont know them). We only have two spare and need four, so have to order another packet but the seller is away on holiday :/ Hope they come back soon! We started on the actual copy of the table plan tonight too. Think other than that, I just need to choose a lipstick and buy OHs last gift :)
