I know it's more expensive but it's a bit different from the norm plus it saves us having to lug all the favours 30 miles to the venue lol.. Not to mention choosing something which we just couldn't agree on!

It's costing us £400 for 3-4 hours depending on how the day pans out. Totally worth it and love stalking his bookface page lol. There is something we could do with help on though - do we have him for the afternoon and meal OR the evening? Option one is him be there when we arrive at the reception right through until the speeches so he would be a good filler during drinks and photos but also during the meal for people and the kids of course. Evening he'd arrive at the changeover point and stay for 3 hours.. We are leaning towards the afternoon as it's less free with things and we reckon everyone will be busy dancing and eating by that point? x

My first instinct was to say the afternoon (and still is if im honest) Im not sure about how much time he will be in use during the meal though as people would probably rather eat than get a caricature done. Again I dont know how many people would use him in the evening as most will be drinking and dancing xx

Weird, don't why it posted my comment twice!

Yes, we were swaying for the afternoon especially if at the end of the drinks and canapes it's starting to dwindle/photos being done. It only takes him 2-3 minutes, 5 at most to draw one so it doesn't take that long at all. Thanks girls x

Shows the differences between different districts. Was hoping to get it today, even if they said not to return it till 6 weeks before the date, but I really want to have a look through and be able to full understand, decide on the vows bits etc
Think we have decided our mums and best man/matron of honor will sign.
Trying to decided on who to have do the readings. Leaving towards one of the BMS and one of the groomsmen.

Very strange.. you'd have thought there would be a standard process across the country. It's great to be able to have a look through and gives you a better understanding of how it will work and what will happen etc. Don't see how there is any harm in letting people have it at the earliest opportunity! Think I know most of it already, only thing is the personalised vows, doo you have to send them and me and oh want to keep them secret till on the day.

i've just looked up civil ceremony weddings uk, and have now watched 2 and tho's were so different, both had reading, but like one put the rings one while saying something like "i give this ring as a sign of my love ...." while the other the both just put the rings on then made there vows. one asked all guests that are able to stand to support the couple while they give there vows, the other called forward 2 witnesses to come forward to witness. one made a statement of the tradition of giving away the bride and asks the father is he is happy with his daughters choice in marriage and wish them happiness, while the other just asks who gives this woman.one has the legal bit first and the personal bit second, the other is the other way around.

Ah i just want to know everything that will happen, im a bit ocd that way, but apparently all registras have a different way of doing it and they won't know whos doing the ceremony till 2 weeks before. urg

What about searching for your local registry office instead of uk? When I search for mine it's got the beginning of the booklet we were given with the choices, but it's missing the last half for some reason.

I have posted this on August 2015 brides so sorry for those on there too but we have a real dilemma! My Dad rang up offering to make our wedding cake... How lovely :) but we have booked and paid a deposit for our baker already :( we don't want to upset either of them but we don't know what to do!

    Hmm tough one.

Obviously your dad is your dad and you love him anyway... But what is he like as a baker? If you generally believe he could do an amazing cake for free then go for it, and definitely transfer the cake lady's deposit to a 21st cake (fab idea)

If you're not sure he could pull off what you both have your hearts set on, then just explain to your dad that the deposit has already been paid and you want him to enjoy the run up to day without him stressing over a cake, and that you'd all like to enjoy it together. If he still says he wants to do something for it, perhaps suggest that he could put a little bit of money towards it (depending on how you feel asking him of course as money conversations can be tricky/awkward!) x

Hi all not been on for a awhile, been busy trying to keep on top of the housework is not easy when I'm doing it all on my own feel like I'm getting somewhere. (Oh is working crazy hours so not much help)

Got an email to say my invites have been dispatched should be here Tuesday or Wednesday oh how exciting and I pick my BM dress up on sat afternoon I CANT WAIT ':-)'

The kids activity books have been dispatched too woohoo I love Christmas so much but I can't wait for it to be over this year lol.

Been looking at honeymoon destinations Caribbean is out of the question it's far too expensive so we have been looking at a med cruise still a bit pricey at £3k but that's a two week cruise and stay. We are def going to Florida May 2016 after my sisters wedding might push the boat out and stay at Disney too so now that Florida is a def I'm not fussed about were we go for honeymoon a week in Cyprus or something similar would do me.

Sounds like you've been really busy Elizabeth!

I ordered my wedding dress today and was pleasantly surprised to find that I've lost so many inches since being measured in August that the shop are able to order my dress 2 sizes SMALLER so YAY!!! Still felt pretty, still loved it and still felt slim which is even better as since August, I've lost 4 inches off my bust and the same on my waist and hips!!

For ages I was hitting a wall no matter how hard I tried so I just thought stuff it and have been eating crap. Maybe now Halloween is out the way and oh goes back to work after being of on holiday for a week bugging me. I just have not wanted to cook etc but really need to get back on it or I won't fit in my dress

The more pressure you put on yourself, the more stressed out you will become and the less liklihood you will loose weight xx`

Sounds like you've got a lot to look forward to Elizabeth.

Catherine that's excellent, well done you! Even better when you didn't even realise ;)

Lana I think we all feel like that at times, I know I do! My OHs had a week off too (school) So we've had a bad week for eating so it'll be back on it from noon so I think thatll help.

OH said a couple months ago he wants to lose weight for the wedding as when I first met him he had lost about 2 stone and he's just put it back on since last year. The only trouble is its annoying me because he's complaining about not losing any weight but he's stopped trying! I can't remember the last time we went to the gym, he used to go running or for a bike ride and he's just got lazy with it. Don't get me wrong, it wouldn't bother me if he stayed how he is now and I would never tell him to lose weight, but it's because I know he really wants to and he wants to look his best for our wedding and honeymoon that's I find it so frustrating :/

Then you can encourage each other and then he won't feel that you are nagging him or not loving him as much cos of his weight if you get me. My OH and I are dieting and exercising together and it's nice to have a buddy so you aren't the loner at the pool and stuff :) x

I've tried and frequently say shall we go to the gym tomorrow or something and he says yeah then it just doesn't happen! The healthy eating side of things is generally fine as we live with his parents and they cook strictly slimming world food and and usually have a takeaway on a Saturday or so. It's just purely the exercise! I'd always suggest him you for a run or gym while I'm at work on an evening but after nearly a week of me dying it we were both getting annoyed - him at me asking, and me at him ignoring me and playing FIFA on Xbox! Oh dear, so it's more the motivation that's the problem then! I know that obviously the wedding is the main goal but have something else to work towards for example Debbie wanted to up her exercise earlier in the year so she registered to do a 5K run for charity back in May which she did.. The NHS do a couch to 5K thing on their website where you can download runs etc. to help build you up so there's stuff out there and if that fails, confiscate the Xbox :D x

I can highly recommend couch to 5k. I followed it early last year and it was fab and the gradual build up is really effective. From not being able to run for 2 minutes, I completed the 5k programme and could do run solid for an hour. It was mad! I have let it slip since then, but aim to get back into it :)

Hi all, I marry my H2B 20th March next year, we have almost everything I can think of booked, it's now just paying for it that's a bit of a nightmare. How is everyone else coming along with planning etc? I've read a little bit and can see you're all discussing diets and weightloss, I know a few people who have done couch to 5K, personally I don't have the time to go for a run. I've been doing a diet plan, I I did it for 5 week throughout September and lost 2 stone. Had a break in October as we went on holiday etc and have just started again. It's amazing, although extremely hard to stick to....I've found I need a lot of will power.

    It's called All about weight
The thing with this one is the plan I'm doing replaces all my meals so I spend a fair bit of money on these meals and don't want to waste the money by cheating. If you have so much as a piece of chewing gum it throws it as it's about getting into fat burning etc. I lost 8lbs in my first week and honestly started to love myself again lol

I went on the 5:2 diet for a month before my holiday in September and lost almost a stone. It's great as you only have to be very strict and count calories for two days of the week. Obviously you can't gorb the other 5 days but you eat as you usually would, within reason. It is very difficult on the days your only allowed 500 cals but you get through it knowing you can eat properly the next day.
I will definitely be doing it again after Christmas.

I have posted on the main forum but not really had much of a response so I thought I would ask you ladies for a bit of advice... We are getting really nervous about our church :( it's not a registered venue for same sex couples yet but they have assured us that it would be way before our wedding but they've only just got to the 'getting approved by the committee' stage? We booked the church 4 months ago now and we are still no further ahead really. I've emailed to find out what's going on again. The registry office has a 3 month lead time for appointments to give notice and we get married in a popular month (next August) so we are starting to get quite twitchy! If we do need the registry office for the day, I know they had limited time slots already. As some of you know, it was one hell of a journey to get to this point with a church so we really don't want get to the point where we won't be able to get married there as that will devastate us following all the upset from before :( what do we do?? We don't have any spare cash for somewhere else either! We are just really worried and could do with some reassurance.....

MrsK2B - I ate normal foods for a month, granted I didn't eat great as we went on holiday etc. But I've only gained 4 pounds when I've been eating, well at times pigging out, with normal foods :) I was worried too but you get a new found love for food, in which I now don't take it for granted and I appreciate it a hell of a lot more

Pics of our invites the rsvps and guest info have the thistle motif on them too. So glad we don't need to fold them all as we had thought we did oh just needs to tie the ribbons as I can't get them to sit right.

    I feel so organised now
