Hey all, been so much activity the last few days!

MrsRobson2be looking at your original wedding dress photo from 4 days ago, Sabrina, I just wanted to warn you about that certain bridal shop in Southampton. I have had 2 bad experiences in that shop, one as a bridesmaid and one as a bride and would warn people away from that shop - they are in it for as much money they can get from you. I'm not one to complain or be negative but I didn't just have one bad experience there and when discussing them with other bridal shops I have found many other customers have the same problems.

Really ErinV I found them really nice, but thinking about it now they did tell me I looked amazing in everything I tried on, even dresses that looked awful on me!! Possibly to get a sale??
I went their specifically as they sell m0ri l33 but was quite disappointed that they didn't have any of my favourites there to try, none of my locals seem to so will have to travel further afield.
Which shops would you recommend?

Yeah I get nervous sometimes, things can be so easily taken the wrong way, or I sometimes wonder about posting too many wedding details as well :/

I've got the day off today so I went to see the shop Re: bridesmaid dresses.

She's shown me 2 similar dresses in the same material/same designer but with higher backs and sleeves. She can also order more material and have wraps/bolero/jackets made at a reasonable cost too. So I'm much happier.
I've basically given my 3 girls the 3 options to choose from, and what ever they decide on is fine with me. The dresses are similar enough to go together if all 3 choose a different one.

ooooh and my MoH says the hen do invites are ready to go out!

I've love the back of the dress btw Leasa but I could easy understand why your bridesmaids might be a bit put off. I'm sure they'll sort something that's right for everybody. Good job you're happy to have three different dresses though to be flexible, I don't think I could cope with different as Im a bit OCD with matching ha!

Leasa I'm glad your bridesmaids have come to a decision, the dresses will go together beautifully. My bridesmaids keep pestering me to go dress shopping again as once I have chosen my dress its there turn. I've just restarted the 30 day shred & had great results last time, so I'm going to hold off on the dress shopping until I've completed the 30 days. I have found a shop in Poole that only stocks dresses by my favourite designers, so fingers crossed I find something there. They don't do appointments though, just turn up & they also said their is no time limit, I think they'll regret saying that as I'll probably be there all day.

When I started looking at shops online I decided to have a look at their site and saw quite a few dresses I liked so decided to go back and look. On my first visit the bride before me overran into my timeslot and they told me I wouldn't be able to try on all the dresses I liked as there would not be enough time for me - why could she overrun and I couldnt?! Then half way through they swapped assistant and left me stood in my pants for a while. I had 2 dresses I liked there so decided to try them again with more people to see what they thought as it was my first dress shopping experience. That time they were on time but kept making my mum, fmil and moh move seats so every time I came out they were somewhere else - they just kept ordering them to move with no reason given. I then noticed on the 2 dresses I like some stitching problems which stood out to us all and put me off them. The assistant kept bumping me for info of where else I had been and what dresses I liked. She then left me (again in just my pants) whilst she went and go0gled them and came back with a dress she thought was similar and forced me to try it on instead of another I wanted to try which I didn't get round to the last time. That time they just seemed to be interested in selling me something rather than being honest and were pushy. I left there feeling really uncomfortable even though I liked one dress but I was so worried they would botch up the measurements and cause me too much stress that I decided not to go back.

Oh Erin that sounds dreadful, it's so tricky to find a nice dress shop. I was quite lucky with mine - there was only one place that seemed a bit pushy and some don't let you know the name or designer of the dress so you don't get it some where else. A few shops won't let you take photos which is apparently 'so you don't steal the design and make it yourself!" if i was that talented i wouldn't have to go dress shopping in the first place!!! It's a shame some don't let you take photos as you can't quite remember how it looks a couple of days later. Also quite thankful to the couple of shops that did let me take piccies as looking back at the photos they weren't the right dresses for me although seemed right at the time! But the one i have bought i love and can't stop looking at piccies of me in it - helps that it is rather flattering!

Ive not done anything wedding related since july, with the kids being off school and doing my student nursing placement ive had no time. Im hoping I can crack on in September, before December comes along and Christmas eats away at some of our savings.

We're having a bit of an expensive Christmas, little one is at that expensive age, wanting lego and a new games console. We're also going away to the lakes for a week with family, going to have to hope that other people understand we can't afford as much on presents.

Have started planning my invites - going to (hopefully) make them over the next few months ready for posting in Jan!! Once christmas all done. Can't believe how quickly christmas is coming round!

Still have a couple of people not sure whether to invite or not - feel obliged to but not sure i really want them there. Hmmm

Yeah everything is now all booked and all deposits paid; registrar is paid off so all good now :)

Finally found a dress that all 5 bridesmaids like! And that spans in size from a 4-20... going to have a well needed mini break with my MOH to Prague on Tuesday. Hoping for some new inspiration.

Bought a full set of sweet jars, scoops and candy bags yesterday for our candy table, for a bargain of £15. I saw them on a wedding forum and just had to have them at that price. Thats one more thing off the list and made a saving too I reckon.
I cant believe how fast Christmas is approaching and the wedding day count down is promptly decreasing. Things are beginning to get exciting now
