Can't decide when to sign up for it... if I sign up now it gives me four months to go through the A level stuff which is relevant to my degree... which would also get me in study mode... but what if I sign up now and then decide I really can't hack the physics, do you think they'd let me switch over to just the mathematics?

I need to do it sooner rather then later anyway to sort out a student loan for the tuition fee's

Took fiancé's parents to see our venue today was nice seeing it again, also got the suits sorted yesterday, complete change, changed the waistcoats and rouches as planned but also changed the colour of the suits from black to grey and from the standard to the light silk (as we think that would be better for summer) fiancé's parents have said they'll pay for them all as well which is great as the change in suit had taken the price up to £700 odd

Spent the day with my mum today, after a combination of holidays and busy weekends meant I hadn't seen her in a month and we only live 6 miles apart! So lots of updates and discussions around ideas (as well as some ranting about my dad!) and things are starting to come together.
We both have a couple of random days off in July so going to book some appointments with dress shops, SO excited!!!

My step sister has a friend who runs a venue decor company, so iv had a fantastic quote from her for chair covers and sashes, table swagging for top table and cake table, and a sweetie favour station. She also has a recommended DJ who is cheaper than our venue's resident DJ, plus can sort us out with first dance choreography lessons. It's all coming together :)

    I'm getting married 2nd April 2015.
I'm really excited but also quite worried as everything costs so much!
I also feel a bit swamped with everything, especially photography, I think it's really important as the pictures will stay forever but I just don't know how to choose one. Any advice out there? Will be much appreciated.
    Thanks x

NatashaR22: It really depends on the style of photography you're wanting. Do you want something traditional or do you want something a bit more dynamic or artsy. Figure this out first and you have completed half the battle. Next is have a look at the people who supply this. Recommendations are brilliant as well as literally typing the area and photographers in g**gle. For example my OH and I didn't want someone who was use to working with people who wanted a lot of group shots with traditional poses etc. We also wanted someone who focuses a lot on the lighting as well as prefers to work in a relaxed way. Our photographers is a couple who instead of doing a bunch of group shots will maybe do one or two groupies and then throughout the evening will take us away for 10-15mins a time to do some Bride and Groom shots and do candids of the guests in between those.

Yeah it is a bit overwhelming to begin with but once you have the big things out the way you're good to go such as Venue/Officiate/Photographer and Caterer. If things are looking a bit too expensive then negotiate, if they're not willing to drop the price then see what they can throw in free. You'll be surprised. We got £600 off our venue just by pointing out that we're only having 60 guests for the ceremony/meal and the rest aren't going to be there until the evening reception so I wasn't happy about paying for the full 100 guests when they are not there for over half of the day. WIN. Make sure you have fun bringing it all together as well. Go to wedding events and meet photographers, even look at photography students at nearby Uni's/Colleges. Some hidden gems there.

They're from $amuels Mrs Kirby :) mine was £299 and OHs £249, excellent considering we were expecting £1000-1500 as I thought I could only have platinum to match my Ering but 2 jewellers told us palladium should be fine with it, just slight discolouration like most. I'm excited, mine should be delivered to store Friday and OHs 5th June.

Went out with the fpil yesterday so managed to get the contract to them for the band, so hopeful that will be sent back with the deposit soon. But not before the fmil has her say about out choice of day and would it not be better, easier to change to a Friday or Saturday. *breaths* doo had to expiration again, we have already changed the date so its easier for thos with kids (now in holidays) and sheer like blah blah, people getting time of work , to which my response was if they care about us they will come and they have been given plenty of notice , Lots of people not don't work covential mon-fri /9-5 jobs doo would have to get it off if we had it on a Saturday anyway plus we don't have an extra £2000/3000 to pay for the extra cost of having it on a Fri/sat. But it's done now, stood my ground and won.

I've more or less booked everything now which is kind of frustrating as now its trying to find something to do. Luckily for the next month and a bit I have my local town carnival to concentrate on , as im organising the entertainment and also helping with the float at all the other carnivals.

Then im going to get on making the flowers for my bouquet and get a proper design done for the invites. Which i need my Oh and BM to help with.

Im in the same boat. The only thing we need to do is design the invites but we were going to save that for the summer holidays, they are already built and stored away for now. Ive just done a spreadsheet of costs for additional guests and their meals, the ceremony room hire, buffet etc.

My dad is paying the package cost which is £3100 which included 50 for 3 course meal and the same 50 for evening buffet. We have 63 altogether, so 13 at £45ph, plus 4 childrens meals £12.50 each.
To avoid additional room charges we need 100 guests (including day guests) - so 50 extra buffet
    £400 ceremony room hire

So overall, worked out we need to pay like roughly £1700 on top of the package cost - feeling very grateful. Took about an hour to get it all on a spreadsheet with names of all the guests and everything ha :( That certainly kept me occupied!

I'm thinking of getting a bridal set now... I feel really horrible as obviously oh chose my engagement ring and he did a good job, but I can't seem to find a wedding ring that goes with it, so we're talking about buying a set now.... but it might just be that I don't like two rings on my finger to be honest as I think it looks really clumpy :/ we shall have to wait and see.... if not I don't know what I'll do :/

i have less than a year to go now! 1 year countdown started yesterday! i can't get my head round the fact i am going to be a wife - it sounds so weird! Donna i have really tiny hands so I can't have 2 rings it just looks wrong and nothing went with my engagement ring anyway cos its unusual...so I am having my nans ring as a wedding ring and then after the wedding I will wear that on my right hand and just wear my engagement ring on my ring finger...you could do that? or the other way round just wear a wedding ring and wear your engagement ring on the other hand? people make up all these rules about how things have to be done but does it really matter? just do what you want...xx

Lana you can get lots of really reasonable mens rings. W@arren j@ames are worth a look, some for under £100 there!

Donna what shape is your engagement ring? Mine has a slight gap between my wedding and engagement ring but its not noticeable unless you're looking for it. Kitty's right though, you can make youer own rules if you don't want two rings on one finger :)

^ as for your own rules, when I was looking at rings yesterday everywhere everyone was telling me to put the wedding ring on first and I was like um no I prefer it the other way, my mum was like its traditional, I was like I don't care, I don't like it that way IMO it looks stupid and ugly.

I had a really bad nights sleep last night with lots of bad dreams, about the wedding, about rehearsals going really wrong, dress getting ripped, and then the actual wedding the bms walking down to fast and ducking in the aisle before the front is some venue I don't even reconise, and then I get to the front and Oh is not there and in looking around wildly freaking out going where is he and his BM who is not even the guy who is his best man is like "I don't know" and im like but you were supposed to be staying with him last night and this morning" I run out crying my eyes out to my room to find my phone, and ring him he answers and says hes not coming as he does not love me, cue more tears and me waking up crying , and my Oh woke up and was like whats the matter? so I told him and he was like "thats never going to happen, I love you more than anything (other than Izzy <our DD>) and would never every do that to you " we hugged and eventually managed to get back to sleep.

I don't know what its supposed to mean , as I know he would not do that, and I know he loves me/us and would not do that to us.

Its just a manifestation of your fears is all, when my OH and I first got engaged last year I started having dreams that we had NOTHING organised on the day of the wedding and I freaked out. When I spoke to a few girls at work about this they told me about their dreams they had right up to the night before the wedding. The worst was my old team leader who had a very vivid dream where everything seemed to be going just as planned and she had walked down the aisle then when he turned he said he didn't want to be there and walked right out of the church and said "what was I thinking? who would want you?" She was so upset when she woke up in the middle of the night she got in her car, drove the his parents house where he was staying and burst into tears when he answered the door. Of course he told her he would never do that and she stayed the night there.

Suffice to say they had a lovely wedding :)

Congrats LeasaD! One year woohoo! best feeling! VictoriaL its amazing getting to less than a year to go...its weird though! I can't imagine calling myself a wife...obviously i pretty much am a wife already - its just the word it sounds so grown up and strange!

Lana I have the most vivid dreams - sometimes when they are really bad I wake up and I feel like I haven't slept for a week - have had LOTS of wedding related ones - some good and some bad - the worst one was really bad so I woke myself up (i can usually do that by telling myself in my dream its not real - weird!) walked to the bathroom but I can't have been fully awake because I looked in the mirror and I was wearing a veil and my face was falling off like a zombie! and I am not worried about anything wedding related at all! I think its just your brain processing information - just annoying! xx

I know what you mean Kitty, I'm 29 soon and will be 30 when we tie the not and I still don't feel mature enough to be that age let alone a wife... I mean, I don't even cook! (I can, I just really hate it and OH is a fab cook)
